Stay Original, Sweethearts
“Kol..” She said softly, looking up at the other curiously. “How does one become what you are?” She asked, her eyes never leaving his face. “Wait–” She blinked a few times, arching an eyebrow. “Really? You want–” She was speechless, excitement taking over her body. “You want me?” She asked, happily. The young human girl nodded as he spoke, she believed him. April knew that Kol wouldn’t let Klaus hurt her. “Yes, but i don’t think that you’re like him, not as much as you think. Kol, you may be a monster, or so you seem to think you are, but you care for me, so that means something.” She pointed out. Giving him a soft smile, kissing his cheek softly. “I know.. Now stop trying to scare me off.”
She jumped up happily, looking him over. “So i’m bringing out the good in Kol Mikaelson?” She teased, giggling lightly. Once his hand was on her cheek, she gasped, breathing in as much air as she could. Her breath hitched in her throat. “I trust you.” She nodded, her words coming out in a soft whisper. “We all have our demons.” Placing a hand on his, she gave him a loving look. “There are going to be things we disagree on, but that happens in every relationship, doesn’t it?”
“Then i’m yours, forever.” She assured him. Enjoying how close they were, this is what she wanted since their first kiss, since he started avoiding her. Nodding, she was just about to move towards the door, but his lips on her neck caused her to stop, tilting her head back. “Oh.” She whimpered, biting her lower lip. She needed more. Moving closer, she pressed her body flush against him, pressing her lips to his once more. Nipping at his lower lip. “You engulf me.” She whispered, her arms wrapping around him. She didn’t want to let go, didn’t want to lose the closeness.
How does one become what you are? It was a fair question to ask and one that he should have been expecting, but surprise overwhelmed his features as he turned to glance at her. "How does one become a vampire, you mean?" He asked. He typically didn't identify himself to such a term. He preferred Original, or -- and this was something he never allowed himself to share with anyone -- he sometimes thought of himself as a witch. Although he hadn't practiced magic in over a thousand years, it was something that he often felt still pulsed through him, magic that was supposed to be his, but he couldn't quite reach in his vampiric state. He felt her gaze on him and shook his head to clear his thoughts, realizing she was still waiting for an answer to her question. "For a human to turn, they must have blood of a vampire in their system...and then they must die." He glanced at her with a raised brow. "Why, were you thinking of joining the dark side?" He asked, his tone playful as to hide what he was thinking. As much as he liked the idea of her staying young with him forever, he certainly didn't enjoy the thought of her dying, and most certainly not by his hand.
"You sound surprised." Although he couldn't fathom why. In his eyes, he'd made it very clear that he wanted her. But this was only because he'd already shown her so much more of himself than he'd ever allowed anyone to see. But she didn't know that. Perhaps she thought he was just another smooth-talking boy, that he did this with all of the girls in his life. And while he'd had plenty of sexual conquests, he'd never come anywhere near anything that could be the beginnings of a relationship until her. "Of course I want you." Silly girl. His lips turned down into a frown as she spoke of his brother again, his eyes falling shut as her lips brushed against his cheek. "I'm not trying to scare you off, love. I only mean to be honest with you. I don't have much experience in that area, as I imagine you can tell." He'd never felt the need to with anyone else.
"I suppose you are, yes," he muttered with a quiet laugh. "Don't go around telling people that, though. I have a reputation to uphold." His smirk was as bright as ever. His eyes moved down to her lips as her breath hitched. He loved the effect he had on her, how easily he could catch her off guard. Would that fade over time? He hoped not. He let out a soft laugh as he met her eyes. "Kol Mikaelson in a relationship. Who ever would have thought?" He smiled down at her, head shaking softly as he pulled her body toward him. How quickly she had become the most important thing in his life. "That's quite a promise to keep," he whispered teasingly. But he would promise her forever as well. He pulled her back to him as she moved toward the door, his lips continuing down her neck. He couldn't help but focus on her body against his, inviting and warm. He met her eyes, his bright with an unnameable emotion. She had said exactly what he'd been feeling. She'd engulfed him as well. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her deeply, reaching down and lifting her up easily in his arms as he carried her back toward the house, his lips never leaving hers.

“Well i have some catching up to do.” She teased, nudging him playfully. She knew she should probably be more afraid. But the worst thing she was thinking about was what her father would think of her. Falling for a vampire, how foolish.. He’d probably disown her. Shrugging, she looked down. “Kol, is it what you want?” She asked, her fingers twisting each other, as she tried to calm herself. Did he want it, did he want her? She still didn’t know. Letting out a sigh of relief.. “Good.” She said, the fear leaving her body. “Well no, not good. But i’m a little less afraid now.” She admitted. “You’re cruel when you’re jealous?” She asked, arching an eyebrow lightly, tilting her head to the side curiously. “You’re like him?” She questioned, not believing the words coming from his mouth. But there was still a strong part of her saying, it doesn’t matter, you trust him.
April smiled happily. “I don’t think you’re quite like him Kol, he doesn’t seem as open as you’re being. He doesn’t seem to know control.” She told the other. Though April didn’t know much about either of them, so she could be wildly wrong about the both of them. “Really? Then tell me, have you killed a lot of people?” She asked, curious. April furrowed her eyebrows, not sure where that question came from. April didn’t fear him because she trusted him. Yes some of the things that he tells her may make her nervous or slight afraid, but the trust she has for him will out weigh everything else.
Her body lit up with need, with want. Being this close to him was dangerous, she wanted to be closer. “Are you already retracting your offer?” She teased. Looking down at the hands gripping to the fabric of her shirt, she blushed. Returning the kiss passionately. As he tugged her hair lightly, she moaned into his mouth. Shivering at the feel of his tongue on her lip. April pulled back slowly, looking up at him as she tried to catch her breath. “Should we go back inside?” She questioned huskily.
“That you do," he muttered, chuckling quietly. He hesitated for a moment as he met her eyes. "It is what I want," he finally said softly. He wanted a world of things with her, things that he couldn't even begin to explain in fear of scaring her off. "Don't worry about my brother. I would never let him lay a finger on you." He had let Klaus get away with a great number of things when it came to his treatment of Kol, but April was something different entirely. "Sometimes," he said quietly. "Klaus and I have more in common than you know." He was usually intimidating on purpose -- he liked it better for people to fear him from the first introductions, but there was no part of him that wanted April to be scared of him. She didn't have to be. He would never hurt her. It was convincing her of that that he thought might pose a problem. "You don't have to be frightened of me. I won't hurt you."
He pressed his lips together as he contemplated her words. "You may be right about that. But you have to understand, I've never been this way with anyone before you," he admitted. He sucked in a breath as she asked him the question he had both been expecting and fearing. Had he killed a lot of people? He considered this for a moment. He didn't have a number for her, but he knew that there was a clear answer. "Yes." He reached up and cupped her cheek in his hand. "You can trust me. I pose no harm to you. That I can promise you." He knew it wasn't much, but it was all he could truthfully offer her. He wouldn't make her promises he couldn't keep.
"Never. The offer stands," he murmured with a slight smile. His eyes fell closed as he heard her moan against his lips, holding her closer still as he felt the shiver run through her. His eyes opened and roamed over her face as she pulled away from him. Her voice, how low and full of want it was -- if he thought about it for too long it would consume him. "I think that may be a good idea," he let out softly, moving down and trailing soft kisses along her neck. He truly had wanted to take her to his special place, but suddenly all he could think about was the way her body pressed against his, how tiny and warm and soft she was. He wanted more, wanted everything.
itchingtokillsomething started following you
first of all, how dare you.
second of all, i think it’s exceedingly funny that you picked right now to follow me as my roommates are watching Pretty Little Liars on TV and I totally just saw Nate Buzz and.
I MEANT TO PRESS THE REBLOG BUTTON BUT I PRESSED THE UNFOLLOW BUTTON INSTEAD. also I literally watched that episode of PLL because of him, even though I haven't seen anything else of the show. I love his face
That’s really all she has to hear. All she needs to know to explain his disposition, his appearance. No sooner has he mentioned his spat with his brother does she take his hand and tug him inside. “ Nothing. Just making tea. You can have some. It’s really good. I get it from this place in the mall-super expensive, but I love it. It’s got peach and pineapple in it…”
She’s trying to distract him, comfort him with her Bonnie-ness. She figures he came here because he wanted to be around her. So she won’t leave his side. “ We don’t have to talk about it,i f you don’t want to. But if you do want to talk, I’ll listen. I can order a pizza for you. Or we can go to the store and we can burn one in the oven ourselves.”
He follows her inside, his fingers intertwining with hers automatically. He nods slowly as she tells him about her tea, doing his best to focus on her words and not on the blow out that he's just had with his brother. "Yes, I'll take a mug if you don't mind." He runs his fingers through his hair as he glances over at her, watching her silently for a moment as the corner of his lips upturn into the beginnings of a smile. "You don't have to do that." Just being here with her was enough to lighten his mood considerably.
"I snapped Nik's neck." His tone is almost light as he leans against the kitchen counter and pulls two mugs down from her cabinet. "I may need you to take him out for me. He's more frightened of you." He glances over at her and smiles a bit. He knows it's not exactly a time for jokes, but it's much easier. He doesn't want to feel guilty about what he's done -- after all, his brother had left him daggered in a box more than once -- but this was different somehow, most likely because his brother was sure to get revenge on him in a way that Kol could never manage.

“Not. Human. Dude. –At least not fully. You might wanna try, y’know, not suckin’ at trailin’ after someone else with the intentions of turnin’ them into a happy meal.”
“I wouldn't go around bragging about that If I were you. Besides, do you really think that you'd have realized I was behind you had I not wanted you to? You underestimate me."
Her eyes widened at the thought of him being around that long, looking him over she arched an eyebrow. “A thousand?” She asked, almost not believing him.. “Well, you look good for your age.” She teased. April knew she should probably care more, but she liked him, and she meant that she really liked him. Hearing his question, she could feel her breathing stop for a moment, she was in shock that he would even consider it. “You want me to be? Y-your girlfriend i mean..” She stuttered. Her cheeks were as red as a tomato. April had only wanted to be his since the moment they met. “Wait, he wants to kill me? Did i do something i shouldn’t have?” She asked, looking up at him, fear in her eyes. “What if we aren’t that close though? Like yeah we’re friends, but i don’t know if she’d care..” She told him honestly.
“Can you tell me those things?” She questioned, looking up at him with wide eyes. Eager as ever to learn more about him. She knew it would come, but honestly she could spend all day just listening to him talk, and she’d be fine with how her day went. But she knew that they had time. Even though his whole being simply intrigued her, she could wait, or at least she would try to wait, but she knew she was nosy. “Sometimes i ask too many questions, just tell me to stop okay?”
“Y-yes..” She frowned hearing his shock. She didn’t mean to insult him. It just felt as if he was trying to scare her away. The moment his hand touched her hip, she lost all train of thought. Her hands going up to rest on his chest. Looking into his eyes, as she brushed her fingers against his cheek. “I’m not Kol. Yes i may be afraid of the things you may have done, but i trust you.” She said as truthful as she possibly could. “Forever?” She breathed out, her heart practically stopping. He wanted her around forever? “Then i’m yours forever Kol. As long as you’ll be mine forever.” She whispered, moving to wrap her arms around his neck. Her eyes pleading with him to kiss her.
“Yes.” He watched her for a moment, waiting for her to have some kind of reaction. He let out a small, surprised laugh upon hearing her comment. That was all she had to say upon hearing his age? He smiled softly at the bright hope clear on her expression. "Is that what you want?" He asked softly. He shook his head at her. "He doesn't want you dead. I doubt if he even knows who you are. The thing about Klaus is he kills for any number of reasons, and he doesn't know who you are to me. Not that he would care, I imagine. Only more reason to cause your demise. He's quite cruel when he's jealous. Not that I have too much room to judge him. You should know that all of those things I say about him are things that are true about me as well." He raised a brow at her as he waited for her response to that. It wasn't that he wanted to frighten her off, he just wanted her to know the full truth about him. He wasn't the person she thought he was, not by a long shot.
He glanced over at her and smiled. "I can. Whatever you want to know, I'm happy to tell you." It would take a while to tell her his story, but she seemed as if she were truly interested in hearing it. "I don't mind your questions," he assured her. She was curious and that was natural. Of course, he'd thought that her being frightened would be natural too, and she still didn't seem to fear him. It was something he wasn't used to -- someone being blatantly unafraid of him, but it was also nice somehow. He'd always had people respect him, fear him, but very rarely had he ever had someone trust him. And April did trust him. It was obvious. If she didn't, she wouldn't still be around him.
The feeling of her hand on his chest was enough to spark a fire within him. Never had someone been able to effect him so much with just a single touch. "Careful what you promise," he murmured softly. "Forever is a very long time." His fingers clung to the fabric of her shirt where it hung around her hips. He leaned in slowly and pressed his lips against hers, his hand slowly moving up her back and tangling into her hair as he pulled her body flush against his. His tongue ran slowly along her bottom lip, his thoughts returning to that first night they had met, the first and last time they had kissed like this. But it was different now somehow. It wasn't desperate and quick. It was soft and slow and it was stronger now because he knew her better and impossibly, he wanted her even more now than he did then.
Hearing his snort, she couldn’t help but giggle. “I won’t.. At least i don’t ever plan on it.” She told him truthfully. Rebekah was the only person who told her about vampires, everyone else tried to compel her to forget. And that meant a lot to her. Did she want to know? Humming lightly as she thought about it, she finally nodded. “I would like to yes, if you’d like to tell me.” She said softly. Yes he had offered to tell her, but maybe he didn’t truly want to. “Oh. your brother likes her?” She asked, shocked.. Her eyes looking into his, as her face was moved. “–You could tell? I-i’m sorry.. I don’t mean to be a crazy jealous girlfriend. Not that i am your girlfriend, but” She blushed heavily. “Uh Caroline, she’s perfect. Her hair, her smile, the way she knows exactly what to do at every occasion.” April nodded.
“Oh do you now?” She asked, playfully, letting out a soft laugh. Her eyes widening, as her face lit up at the thought of being the first one brought to this secret spot of his. Hearing his compliment, her cheeks flushed once more. “Oh..” She breathed out. Leaning into the Originals touch. “Kol, you keep telling me you’re this monster, but you’ve proven that isn’t true.” She pointed out, grabbing his hand for a moment, before letting go of his hand and following him outside. April was excited for this adventure that they were going to go on.
“Well there’s my dads car, but i’m not sure if it works. I haven’t exactly used it.” She didn’t want to crash it.. It was the only thing besides the house that she had left of him. “Did you want to try that?” She asked looking over at him. “Kol, you’re not going to frighten me.” She said sternly. “Unless, you want to ?” She asked, her eyes widening at the thought, she sure hoped that wasn’t the case. Taking a step closer, she placed a hand on his cheek, leaning in close, and whispering in his ear. “I’m not going anywhere. Not as long as you want me around.” Which she hoped would be a very long time.
He turned to look at her, his eyes meeting hers. “I’m over a thousand years old.” His tone was factual and straight to the point. He wouldn’t keep anything that she wanted to know from her, not anymore. It was a bit too late for that, he thought. He nodded as he thought of his brother and what he had thought was a silly obsession with a human girl. And now the same thing had happened to him. He raised a brow as she called herself his girlfriend, a small smile forming on his lips. “Would you like to be my girlfriend?” He asked teasingly. It felt so strange to him, using a word as loose and light as girlfriend. To him she was much more than that, but he had no words to explain how he felt. “Well, it’s good that you’re friends with her. I imagine Klaus would be reluctant to kill anyone she’s close to.” He tried to let his mind rest easy and believe that she would be safe around his brother, but he would still be uneasy if the two were ever to find themselves around each other.
"There are still a world of things that you don’t know about me.“ She kept telling him that he wasn’t a monster, but he saw him in such a positive light that he doubted if she even believed he was a killer. If the thought had come to her mind at all, it obviously wasn’t something she had decided to dwell on. He didn’t understand her. He knew there were a thousand conversations to be had, but they would all come in time. There was no need to rush this – that’s what he kept reminding himself, but it was all too hard not to when it came to her. It felt like he had known her his entire life, and that he’d only met her a moment ago. She was beautiful, and confusing, and brilliant, and frustrating. He knew he was in too deep. There’s nothing that could force him to turn his back on her now.
"Want to frighten you?” He asked, a bit of surprise in his voice. “I would never want to frighten you. I just feel it’s inevitable.” He took a small step toward her and placed his hand on her waist as he pulled her body toward his. “You’d be wise to be scared of me.” He let out a soft breath as she touched his face, her palm warm against his cheek. “And what if I want you around forever?” He asked softly. “What happens then, April Young?” He leaned in toward her and rested his forehead against hers for a moment. All thoughts of their trip to his secret spot were forgotten for the moment as he looped his arms around her waist, his nose brushing softly against hers.
“Rebekah has a temper? Are you sure? Because she seems so sweet.” April admitted, with a small smile. She was fond of Rebekah, in the short time that she knew her they had become quite close. Though she hadn’t told her how old they truly were. “It’s not something i’m used to.. Almost dying.” She said with a laugh. Shaking her head, she couldn’t help but move closer to the other. “No, i don’t. But Kol, your age doesn’t matter, if i’m okay with you being a vampire, i think i can get over your age.” As he continued on about Caroline, her eyebrows furrowed. “Why do you want to know about her?” She questioned frowning.. “Honestly i am. She has her life together, she’s practically perfect, i’ve won Miss Mysitc Falls, but i could never be as good as she is.” She said, her jealously showing. Sighing, she shook her head. “Then we can talk about it another time?”
April blushed at his words. Her cheeks turning a dark pink. “Oh..” She breathed out. Not used to the compliments. “My bodyguard? Oh Kol Mikaelson, you’re treading thinly.” She teased, nudging him playfully. April loved their teasing. Honestly, she was almost positive she loved everything about him. And it was weird, because she barely knew him. The human girl wasn’t used to this, the feelings, especially not this soon.
She couldn’t tell. You either had to write it out, or say it, otherwise she’d never catch on. Though him taking care of her when she needed him, did show her that he cared, it just didn’t tell her how much, or how he cared. “I just need to change.” She nodded. “Is this a place that you go to, to be alone?” She asked, as she walked towards her room. Not sure if he was going to follow or not. Throwing her shirt off she rummaged through her closer, and found a loose tank top, one that was a little flowy, and jumped into a pair of jeans, throwing her mess of a hair into a messy bun, a few strands hanging out. “Okay.” She nodded, as she walked over to him. “Lets go on this hike, then i need to shower.– Lead the way?” She motioned, looking up at him happily.
He let out a snort as she inquired about his sister’s temper. “Believe me, you don’t want to anger that one.” He raised a brow at her, his lips pressing together in a small smile. It was obvious that she saw the very best in people. It was the only explanation as to how she thought both he and Rebekah were such good people. It was quite endearing, he thought. He was the exact opposite, assuming the very worst in people. What a pair they were. He nodded slowly as he met her eyes. “Do you want to know?” He asked quietly. It wouldn’t surprise him if she were to say no. She said it wouldn’t matter to her, but it would have to unnerve her at least a little. He cocked his head to the side as she asked him about Caroline. “My brother, Klaus, he’s quite smitten with her. Just curious as to what he sees in her, I suppose.” He reached up and took her chin in between his fingers. “Believe me, darling. There’s no competition between you and that girl.” Not in his eyes, anyway. He nodded as he dropped his hand from her face. “Later,” he agreed.
"Well, I have been known to ‘live life on the edge’, as they say,“ he told her teasingly. He nodded as she asked about the place that he was taking her. "Yes. I’ve never taken anyone there before,” he admitted. He’d never had anyone to take, not anyone he was interested in spending a lick of time with. But April, he’d like nothing more than to spend time with her. It was a strange and still unfamiliar feeling. He stayed put as she headed back to her room, figuring she would want her privacy. His eyes roamed over her after she had changed and stepped back out, shaking his head as he moved toward her. “You’ve no idea how lovely you are,” he muttered, his fingers moving up and brushing along her cheek. He gave her a sudden and cheeky smile before turning and heading for the door, waiting for her to follow him.
He glanced around and thought for a moment before turning to glance at her. “Do you have a car? We could run there, of course, but it is a bit of a distance and I wouldn’t want to frighten you.” He doubted if she had any idea just how fast he could run on his own two feet, and he wasn’t sure if it was something she’d want to experience first hand. “Although, perhaps you should get a glimpse into just how powerful I am. May send you running for the hills,” he teased her. His tone was light, but he couldn’t help but wonder if that was true. No point in thinking about that right now though. Either she would run or she wouldn’t, and he would rather enjoy the time he had with her while he still could.
Transition | Elena & Kol
Elena’s life had been simple, at one time. Shopping trips with Bonnie and Caroline, commanding her little minions at school to ensure she maintained her social rank, even bickering with her brother or caring for her little sister had seemed easy. Then Stefan had turned her life upside down. He had entered it like a crashing wave, weaving itself into every piece of sand that was her life. It had started a bit chaotic but solidified into something that had encompassed so much more. With him the supernatural had come and people had been lost. Of course, this wasn’t Stefan’s fault. But it marked a time of transition in her life. A chain reaction of events which led to this moment where the fashion plate of Mystic Falls found herself in damp and dirty clothing and with a bloodlust so extreme she was asking an Original Vampire– one who she either fought with or begrudgingly teamed with on a daily basis– to let her feed from him.
And yet, something about this whole situation, and even who she was presently with, felt more right than anything else had in a long time. Even in the face of becoming something she had never wanted to be, she felt calm with him there with her. He remained just as silent as she, no words or judgements needed. Glints of gold sparked in blue hues in the sparse light as the golden haired Queen Bee met the gaze of her guide on this new journey. And while her fingers gripped his arm tighter with his approval something in her view of the Original altered. In doing what she was about to do there would be no going back to the way they were. At least not exactly to the way they were and with a sudden clarity she felt her heartbeat begin to race at the fear mixed with excitement this invoked. But even Elena couldn’t know just how pivotal to both their futures this moment would be. With a sudden breath she lets her teeth bite into his skin and almost as if she’s in a sudden frenzy she shifts her weight into him, sending his back into the wall as her arms wrap around his, suddenly lost in the moment and his blood.
Kol watched the girl before him intently as she took a step forward, their eyes meeting for a lasting moment full of understanding before she moved in and pierced his flesh with her newly acquired fangs. His eyes fell shut as she drank from him, a new experience for both of them. This was forbidden – something he had never allowed anyone to do before her. Other vampires he had turned for selfish reasons. To create an army, or a dutiful group of followers. And while he hadn’t turned Elena, he felt that he was responsible for her transition, or at least for it happening in this way. But perhaps this was the only way. It was always meant to be him here with her. He had lived far too long and seen too many things to believe in any sort of higher power or to put any weight on the concept of fate, but it was impossible to believe that their lives constantly intertwining was a matter of chance. They were meant to know each other, to understand and help and change each other, and he knew that there would be no denying that after this evening.
The force of her body sent him crashing against the wall behind him, his hands carefully moving to her waist to steady her as she drank from him. It was almost shameful -- if Kol was even capable of such an emotion -- the sheer pleasure that he felt, how aware he was of her arms around him and the warm press of her lips against his neck. And all of this was nothing compared to knowing that she know had his blood coursing through her veins, sustaining her. These things wouldn’t have been shameful if it wasn’t Elena. But then again, none of this would have happened if it hadn’t been Elena. They hadn’t known each other for very long, but she’d certainly done a number on him. The fact that she was here drinking from him was a testament to that. She’d taken quite a lot of blood from him at this point, but he wouldn’t stop her until she was ready. He could handle the loss, but he knew Elena wouldn’t be able to handle it if she were to kill someone right now because she hadn’t had enough. Not that he had any intention of letting that happen in the first place, but it was best not to take chances, not with her, not right now.
April tilted her head to the side curiously. Arching an eyebrow lightly. “They find you intimidating?” She questioned, intrigued. April could see how protective he was, but he didn’t seem intimidating, well unless he was protecting her. Pretending to be offended, she gave him a playful pout. “You don’t think i can?” She teased. Tapping his nose lightly. Nodding as he inquired about Caroline, a slight twinge of jealousy ran through her. “Yes..” April said, arching an eyebrow. “W-what do you want to know about Caroline?” She asked softly. Looking down for a moment. April couldn’t help but return her eyes back over to him. “You never what?” Her curiosity came back. “Sorry, i didn’t– We can just drop it.”
His laugh made her giggle. “No, i’m glad you’re here. You can startle me every day for the rest of my life, if it means you’re here.” She blurted out. Blushing immediately as she realized what she had just said. “I’ll be careful, though, maybe i should ask you before i invite someone in.” She teased. When his arms loosened, she frowned, hoping he wasn’t letting go. “Yeah?” She asked, trying to act cool, but she knew she was far from pulling it off. The grin never leaving her face. Aprils eyes never left his face, she was remembering every single line, every single thing about it. Though as she examined him, she wondered what he was thinking.
April arched her back, her lips parted as she let out a soft gasp, enjoying the touch of his fingertips running up and down the thin fabric covering her back. “No.” She breathed out. Her eyes widening at his question. “You want me to spend it with you?” She asked, in disbelief. The joy in her tone very evident. “Yes Kol, i would love to spend the day with you.” She whispered, nuzzling against him. Whining as his hands fell to his sides. “I liked that.” She said softly. The smile never faltering. “It’s okay, i don’t know how to entertain a vampire.” She teased, grabbing his hands. “What’s first?”
“You would be surprised. Rebekah, too. Quite a temper on that one.“ He smiled fondly. He had his differences with all of his siblings, but he’d always been closest to his sister. She was his partner in crime, always had been, whereas Klaus would only cause trouble with him when he was feeling particularly chaotic. "Well, considering you seem to have had more near-death experiences in the past month than I have in my entire life…” He wondered just how much Rebekah had told her about their family. “Do you know exactly how old I am?” Perhaps she would rethink her feelings for him when she discovered this bit of information, or maybe she already knew. “I don’t know. What’s she like? Are you fond of her?” Not that he was entirely sure he would trust April’s judgement. After all, she had already admitted to him that she was friends with many people his siblings would just as soon see dead. He paused for a moment as he met her eyes. “I’ve just never had this discussion with anyone before. I’m not entirely sure where to begin,” he admitted.
He couldn’t help but smile upon hearing her words. “That’s good to hear, because I thought that little yelp you just did was rather cute.” He nodded in agreement. “That may be a good idea. Perhaps I’ll just become your bodyguard,” he teased, although that wasn’t far off. As long as he was around her, he knew he would be protective to a fault. It was just the way he was wired. He didn’t care about many things, but he would be damned before he let someone touch the few that he did. And there was nothing he cared about more than her. It was impossible, how undeniably smitten he was.
Her outright surprise took him off guard for a moment. She hadn’t thought he was going to come to her last night, she hadn’t thought he was going to be there when she woke up, and she obviously hadn’t expected him to stay so long today. For him, it was obvious that he cared for her. He didn’t treat anyone the way he treated her. But she didn’t know that. “I would like that, yes,” he murmured, brushing a lock of her hair back behind her ear. He chuckled softly as she nuzzled herself against him. “There’s actually something that I’d like to show you, if you’re up for a bit of hiking,” he said with a grin. “Nothing special, really, just somewhere I go sometimes. I think you’ll like it.”
“You and Rebekah don’t seem bad Kol. I’m only worried about your brother, he’s very.. Intimidating.” She admitted, her hands gripping onto his shirt absentmindedly, just the thought of Niklaus caused fear to run through her. “No, you don’t need to do that. Kol, i appreciate it, but i-i can handle myself.” She was lying of course, she couldn’t hurt a fly. Though she truly didn’t want him to hurt anyone for her. She would feel too bad, even if they were trying to harm her. April wouldn’t want anyone to lose their life on her behalf. Elena tried to kill her as well, but he didn’t need to know that. No one besides Matt and Rebekah needed to know. The human girl was already addicted, she couldn’t get enough of his touch.
Seeing his expression she sighed, shaking her head. “Kol, hey.” She whispered, one hand going up to cup his cheek. “I’m here, i’m okay.” She whispered, trying to make him less angry. “Well Elena was there, Stefan, Damon, Caroline, they were all there. I’m not entirely sure if there were more vampires there or not, but the hunter was trying to lure them out.” She admitted. Giving him a small smile. “You don’t like talking about it huh? We don’t have to.” She told him. April wanted to know him, know everything about him, but that would come.
April had eaten half a waffle, and some bacon, the rest she threw in the fridge. Washing the pans in the sink. Jumping and letting out a small yell as she felt his arms around her, once she realized it was him, her body sank against him. A grin on her face. “Hi.” She said sheepishly, looking up at him. “You’re my first visitor in a week. I think i’m okay.” She giggled letting out a soft hum of appreciation at his kiss, dropping her dirty dishes back into the sink, before turning to face him. Her arms wrapping around his neck, wet hands draping behind his back, not wanting to get him wet. “I missed you.” She admitted.
He met her eyes and gave her another smirk. “You know, most people find me intimidating.” He glanced down at her as she tugged at his shirt, laughing softly. “I’m sure you can, love,” he murmured with a teasing smile. “But I’ll be here, just in case.” He closed his eyes as she reached up and touched his cheek. He didn’t like the thought of her being in any danger. He nodded slowly as she told him more about her father’s funeral. “Caroline. That’s the snarky blonde, yes?” He believed she was the one his brother was endlessly fascinated with. “Tell me about her.” He’d always been curious, but had never wanted to ask his brother outright. Kol couldn’t remember the last honest conversation he’d had with Klaus. “Not exactly. I’ve never–” He paused, pressing his lips together as he stopped abruptly. “It’s just not something I talk about.” He was eager to change the subject.
He couldn’t help but laugh when she jumped after his arms had snaked around her. “Sorry, love. I didn’t mean to startle you,” he murmured. “Hmm, you should still be careful. And don’t just let anybody in. Got to be careful of vampires in this town,” he teased, his arms loosening for a moment as she turned to face him. “The feeling is quite mutual.” Kol had never been so invested in someone before, least of all a human. He wasn’t sure how to behave around her at times. How much could he tell her before she finally became frightened of him? How would she react when she gained knowledge of all the people he had killed – when she found out that there wasn’t nearly as much difference between he and his brother as she seemed to think? And what would she think when she found that he wasn’t sorry about his past, not by a long shot?
Eager to rid himself of such thoughts, he shook his head and met her eyes. “Do you have plans for the day?” He asked, his fingers moving up and down her back absentmindedly. “If not, I was hoping that perhaps you’d like to spend it with me?” His voice was almost hopeful, his lips curving up into an easy smile. He raised a brow at her and dropped his arms back by his sides, the smile ever-present on his lips as he watched her. “Although, if I’m to be honest, I’m not entirely certain how to keep a human entertained,” he teased. “You may have to bare with me.”
I think most of who I was has died.

April looked over at him, giving him a soft look. “You don’t?” She asked, her words barely a whisper. How could he disagree, he didn’t truly know her.. But here he was reassuring her that she wasn’t bad luck. Kol had done more in this hour than anyone else. “You’re not going to leave? You’re staying?” Her body perked up, as hope filled her face. A loud laugh escaped her lips, shaking her head. “Oh Kol. – I don’t think i can. Even if my life was in danger, i’m not sure i could run, not from you.” April admitted. She was captivated, invested, maybe not with the amount of time put into it, but her heart, it was invested. Leaning into his touch, she couldn’t help but smile.
That smile immediately dropped as he pressed on. “Well i uh..” She frowned. “Okay, one of them were accidents. Some one was trying to kill Professor Shane, and for some reason, we were linked, so whatever was happening to him, was happening to me.” She explained, not knowing he was the one who was actually doing the killing. “The first time was at my fathers funeral.. A hunter, was trying to lure out the vampires.” She nodded. The frown still on her face. She missed everything, the entire funeral. “Oh.” She smiled. “So it isn’t me? That’s good!” She nodded. Reaching out and grabbing his arm lightly. “I’m sorry Kol. I’m sure they love you though.” April sighed, moving to press another kiss to his cheek.
“Why? Has she done something?” April asked, tilting her head to the side. She wished she could see what they saw in her, or at least know where they were coming from. “I do.. If you want to come back Kol. Don’t feel obligated.” She returned the kiss, pouring as much passion into it as she could. Once he was gone, she stood there for a moment, looking at the door as if he was going to come back, before moving to the kitchen, to make the waffles that she wanted.
“No, I don’t. I'd say the fact that you've met three members of my family and are still alive is proof that you are lucky." He couldn’t help but laugh as she did. “There’s nothing I wouldn’t protect you from, my love. I would gladly end anyone who laid so much as a finger on you. And I do mean that.” Just the thought of harm coming to her was enough to set him on edge. "But I do have my fair share of enemies. We all do. That's something you should know." He knew that she was safe with him, but he wasn't entirely fond of her spending time with Rebekah -- not until he knew what his sister's intentions were. He brushed his thumb along her cheek as she leaned into him, his eyes roaming over her.
He narrowed his eyes as she explained her near-death experiences to him, his lips pressing together in a tight line as he listened. "There were vampires at your father's funeral? I thought you said he hated them?" He wanted to know more, wanted to know everything. His lips upturned into a wry smile as he shook his head at her. "Of course it's not you, darling." He looked down at her hand on his arm and shrugged. "I suppose they might, in their own way." He didn't want to talk about his siblings anymore. He would much rather focus on the feeling of her soft lips, warm against his cheek, or the way her chest was pressed against his for the slightest moment before she pulled back.
"I don't know all the details," he admitted. "She's a doppelganger -- did you know?" He'd always had suspicion that his brothers were both so interested in her because she looked like their Tatia. "I never feel obligated to do anything," he told her with a cheeky grin. "I only do what I want." Once he'd left her house he made his way out into town, feeding on the first girl he found before cleaning himself up heading back to April. He'd been gone just under an hour when he let himself back in and found her in the kitchen. He stepped up behind her silently and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her body flush against his. "You really should lock your doors. There's no telling who might come in," he whispered teasingly as he pressed a soft kiss under her ear.
