It probably comes as a surprise to most but Ghost was used to being loved, he was imperfect in a way that somehow made him an ideal choice to both men and women. He was undoubtedly sexy, a body built to work and kill rather than one meant to look good in pictures for some gym-bros instagram.

He knew what people liked, knew the right time to send a look that was longing yet somehow still just detached enough keep up the appeal of a man that didn’t really need you. Its unbelievably attractive to be wanted by a man that didn’t NEED you and ghost had known that since he started going to pubs are clubs looking for a good lay.

People wanted him for the same reason they would never stick around. He was a fixer upper rough and rugged but with a sweet and caring side underneath his tough exterior. But when they realised that the man they wanted was just an act, that underneath the dark clothes and balaclava was a fragile Simon rather than Ghost exactly the way they met him but just more willing to cuddle after sex, they left.

Just because Ghost was used to love doesn’t mean Simon was. He’d spent so much time cowering from his father and hiding behind the the mask of Ghost that he’d never really turned into a man.

He was desperate for any kind of love, even the misguided love Ghost would receive on a weekly basis. So when the people who’d thought they’d managed to break down ghosts walls with the healing power of a ten minute blowjob in a grimy club bathroom realised that Simon was hiding behind the whole time they’d leave, and he’d break just a little every time. 

Soap would suggest just “being himself” if he’d been brave enough to ask his best mate for advice. But how on earth could do that when every time someone looked at HIM instead of Ghost they’d seen a man they could never love, a man that didn’t fit their imagined perfect man.

The type of women the 141 are into.

Captain John Price.

Contrary to popular belief I don’t think that price would exclusively go out with freshly 18 years olds but he’d probably want someone a bit younger than himself like late 20s early 30s.

He wants the whole 3 kids 2 cars 1 dog thing and someone barely out of college probably isn’t ready for that kinda thing.

He’d like someone with a good job but not so invested in their career that they’d want him to retire and stay at home with the kids.

And obviously you’d need to get along well enough to form a genuine companionship. He’s not just looking for someone to fuck, he’s had that in the past but now that he’s in his mid 40s he’s finally looking to settle down and wants more than the comfort of good sex when he’s home.

Sergent Kyle Garrick.

Kyle’s a complex man, he likes kids and wants to have them but he’s not hit 30 yet so isn’t knocking you up anytime soon.

He spends so much time following other peoples orders, doing what they tell him to do and not much else that his found himself wanting to have his cake and eat it too.

How does he do this? By going out with a single mum of course. Its perfect, he gets all the best parts of helping to raise a kid without actually committing just yet.

Keeping with this he wants someone who’s fully capable of looking after themselves, decent job, own flat, doesn’t ask him to do too much like taking your car to the petrol station for you. Despite this he wants you to be committed to him, he wants to be your emergency contact, wants to be consulted about the decorative choices in your flat and which primary schools you should send your little one to. But ultimately he wants the reassurance that you’d be fine without him should he have to leave.

This isn’t to say he doesn’t want to commit, if the relationship is still going 5 years down the line when he’s getting to his mid 30s then things like marriage and a formal adoption of the kid are defiantly on the table. But for now he’s not quite ready for it.

Lieutenant Simon Riley.

What Simon wants and what he looks for in a woman are two totally different things, he secretly craves a family and a little domestic life just him and the woman he loves but the idea of it terrifies him just as much as he longs for it.

He wants to get married, a kid or two, a little house (not in Manchester, maybe somewhere further south like Birmingham or London) and he oh so wants to be a sole provider, looking after you and the kids so you don’t have to bother working if that’s not something you actually WANT to do.

He’s scared he’ll be just like his father, horrible to the kids and to you. So he looks for women who doesn’t want kids, doesn’t want the commitment of marriage or a join mortgage and is too tied to their career path to retire early.

He’ll either find the person he’s looking for or spend the rest of his like as a bachelor, relying on women he meets in pubs and spends a maximum of 4 hours with to fulfil his less domestic desires.

Sergent John MacTavish.

Despite being similar in age to Kyle, Soap is absolutely ready to settle down. He’s the kind of guy to sleep with tons of women and then suddenly fall head over heels with a women and be married with one on the way within the year.

He’s not the pickiest man, he doesn’t care about height, hair colour or style he just wants a woman who loves him deeply, fucks him thoroughly and wants a fleet of children. He’s from a big family and loved every second of it so he wants that for his kids too.

He’ll have a house back in Scotland in a little village within a 5 minute drive from his parents, siblings and cousins. Definitely getting a dog - something classic, like a Labrador or a spaniel - his thinking is that the kids will train the puppy and vice versa.

He doesn’t really mind what his partner does for work, but he’d probably want you employed in some way since you can’t really afford more than 3 kids on his sergeants salary alone.

Simon who’s in love with Price’s wife.

He’d never do anything about it. Price is probably the most important person in his life, he’s known him for years and, by extension, you. He wasn’t a child when he met you but he certainly wouldn’t consider himself a man, though as the years have gone by he’d turned into one. Strong, capable and in some ways self assured.

Maybe it was because after years in the military you were the first woman he’d seen in a non professional setting (aside from the one night stands he’d met in various pubs by various bases), but you’d captivated him since the moment he’d laid his eyes on you.

Flustered from the slightest touch and preening from any attention you’d grace him with.

He’d assumed it was the same for his lieutenant turned captain as well, consumed by your beauty the day you’d met each other. He probably wasn’t wrong in his assumption, Price certainly seemed obsessed with you the couple times he’d visited your joint home whilst you were still dating.

He’d been so gently and wholly affectionate with you, Simon hadn’t seen anything like it before, it differed so greatly from the kind of love his parents seemed to share (if you could call it love).

Nowadays John seemed almost disinterested, grown accustom to the packed lunches, ironed dress shirts and your spontaneous visits to base. 

It was getting more obvious that his lack of attention had it’s affect on you, the discouraged looks plastered on your face after bringing the two of them snacks whilst they watched football on the tv and price hadn’t given you the enthusiastic appreciation he would have in the earlier days of you’re relationship. It was obvious to anyone paying the slightest amount of attention.

Simon couldn’t imagine ever being disinterested in a woman like you. He could certainly imagine a lot else about you though, but of course, he would never do anything about it.

Fortunately Unfortunately for him, Ghost would.
