Happy 4th of July

Today is the day when Richie Tozier went missing, and it makes me think, when and where did he go missing?

I personally think it was around night, it's dark and everyone's allowed to stay out past curfew because the fireworks happen at the Derry Town Square. Everyone's sitting on the grass with their blankets waiting for the colorful beams of light to brighten up the dark sky.

Richie, Maggie, and Wentworth are sitting on a picnic blanket. Richie won't stop talking about the fireworks and making some fuckass jokes about the president or something (but he tones it down because he doesn't want to be getting in trouble with his parents) Eventually Maggie gets a little fed up, she tells Richie to try to find one of his friends to take to the carnival tonight. And he does.

He walks around, trying not to step on anyone's blanket. Even with his glasses, he's as blind as a piece of shit. So he's continuously stumbling and apologizing.

After a while of walking around about a dozen times, he doesn't find anyone (that's a lie, he finds Bev but she was with her father and he doesn't want her getting in trouble) so he leaves her be.

But he doesn't go back to his parents, he walks around for a little while. Hoping to find someone else. Maybe even Sally Muller, maybe even grab a drink with her.

That thought doesn't stay too long in his mind before he's interrupted by the voice of Eddie. Coming from somewhere around the trees that lead to the Barrens. Richie looks up, trying to spot the boy. But he can't see him.

He stares back at the trees leading into the darkened version of (what he can only assume is the pathway to) the Barrens for a long moment. How did he get so far? Taking a step back, about to turn around and go back to the square. He hears his voice again. Eddie's voice. It's calling out to him as if he needs his help. He hesitantly decides to follow where he thought where the voice came from.

Fireworks start to shoot off into the air, if he had tried to scream, no one would've heard him.

That next morning he was reported missing, at the crime scene there was really no sign that he was even there. The only thing the police could go off from was a pair of glasses that his parents identified themself.

It’s been about a year, but I’m back on my outsiders kick! Wait another 10 months, and I might make some follow-up drawings. :))

Joking aside, I got carried away, and now we’ve got this! Post-rumble walk home. Darry got to show off his abs, Pony sprained an ankle, Soda lost his pretty privileges, Steve’s curls stayed perfectly intact, Two-Bit got brain damage, Dally broke his nose blocking a punch with his face, and Johnny kicked major ass! Eat up, my fellow outsider fans!

I actually really enjoyed the series! I think it gave a lot of information to some of the questions I had. I also really liked seeing some newer characters instead of them JUST being the Loser’s parents!

I love that James Dashner wrote Newt and Thomas's relationship to be purely platonic then the entire fandom was like, "they're kinda gay." And James Dashner reread his own books and was like, "Shit, you're right."

After a discussion with @pmpwbrrs I brainstormed some ideas, regarding Toon diseases, so far I made three of them. Keep in mind that these diseases has nothing to do with Twisted Toons, it's a different thing!

ICHOR BLOATING

Ichor bloating is a disease when a Toon becomes overfilled with ichor and they may experience bloating, internal bleeding and in some cases popping. A sick Toon's internals overfill with ichor and become bigger in size. It happened A LOT during Toon prototyping and at some point Delilah was scared to come in contact with created Toons because she thought they were gonna blow up too. Treatment: Toon should drink a big amount of water to wash out the ichor from their system, sometimes stomach cleaning is required. In late stages there's not much to do other than to isolate a sick Toon so they can pop without making a big mess.

TOON FLU

Toon flu is not as bad as it looks, though it's very contagious. At some point, Gardenview center had to be put on a lockdown due to the global epidemic. Toon experience sweating, fatigue, tremor, fever and excessive ichor release (in tears, mucus and vomit). Water-based Toons like Poppy and Finn will vomit much more. Humans can't get infected, though it's not recommended to stay for long with a sick Toon. Ichor has a very strong chemical metallic smell which can make a human feel dizzy and lightheaded. Treatment: bed rest, hydration, warm food or beverages. It's similar to human flu and it can be treated with human medicine though it works much stronger on my Toons and can actually knock them out for the time of their healing.

That's how fast the flu had spread among the Toons. In only three days, all of the Toons were infected. Except the Holiday ones, luckily it happened at the time when no Holidays occurred.

TOON RASH

Toon rash happens solely to food-based Toons and Toons who have fur. Infected Toons experience itching, burning, or stinging sensations on their skin, they may loose some of their fur or hair. Infected Toons are aggressive and easily irritated. They might hurt themselves in an attempt to scratch the rash until it's bleeding. If the wounds of a food-based Toon are not treated in time, they start to rot. Treatment: ichor shot, covering rash with bandages, cone of shame.

I don't know if I've blogged this already but I think Richie and Stanley / Bill and Eddie were friends first and somehow they merged into a group. I'd like to imagine that Richie met Bill in some form of school project, started talking (mostly Richie), then they eventually started hanging out as a group.

Stanley, to me, was always a gifted kid, sure he got held back in kindergarten but that was just because of lack of attendance. He's always studying for some test or had his nose in some book, he had a bunch of trophies in his room. He was the top student.

Then he came along. A kid who didn't even have to try, but nonetheless still got straight A's and effortless 100 percent's. The kid who put Stanley in second place, the kid who once got the gold shining medals now gets handed the silver sorry of a gift that's engraved with a '#2' that haunts Stan.
