The time has come...

Hey guys!

Wow. I haven't been on this account for quite sometime. I apologize for dropping off the face of the earth. I've been super duper busy with school and volleyball and church and so many other things. Senior year is crazy, to say the least. It's a blast and I'm having a lot of fun, but there has been lots to do and think about. I'm not sure how active this RP has even been recently, but I've hardly had time to use my normal tumblr, let alone RP. I've had so much fun being in this RP, and the CoD characters are truly some of my favorites—that makes this post hard. But to be completely honest, I've kind of lost interest in Cause of Death. It was a great game, and I'll always love the characters. Heck, I might even still write fanfictions with them. But I think the CoD RP chapter of my life needs to end. I just have way too much to do and think about to even consider keeping up with the RP. And to those who are still as into this as I was, that's not fair to you. 

As I said, it was a hard decision, and I've had the thought in my mind for a while now. But I just don't have the time or enthusiasm for the RP that I used to have. I'll honestly miss it, though, and I would love to stay in touch with you Deathicated. Describe an incident when you tried something new.Huh, lemme think... Ooh, I know! So the first time I dyed my hair was when I was fourteen, and I was going through that phase where I thought hot pink highlights would be a wonderful idea. My mom offered to go get it done with me, but I wanted to do it myself... Yeah, BIG mistake. Basically, I ended up with pinky-orange hair in uneven streaks. Glad that stage passed!More recently, though, I tried a new brand of alcohol. It was really good!

"Oh, yeah, hehe," I say, chuckling nervously. "Turns out, running’s all fun and games until someone crashes into a hot dog stand. That someone was me, by the way." I look around awkwardly, trying to avoid her judging gaze. "So…" I say, streching out the ‘ooo’. "The economy," I say, and follow with fake laughter. "I’m sorry. I just- You know. You’re really educated and I’m like…not. So…" I wipe my hand on my board shorts nervously. 

"Hey, I tell ya what I’ll do. To make up for it, how ‘bout I buy you a beer?"

I stand, unamused, with a questioning look on my face as Colt rambles on in an attempt to explain himself. After a long pause, he awkwardly mumbles, "Soooo, the economy." I almost roll my eyes.

Educated, huh? I realize I could take this opportunity to make him ragingly uncomfortable, but seeing as he's already looking like he'd like to crawl in a hole, I decide to let up. 

Plus, this is supposed to be a fun beach day. No use being a female dog.

"Relax," I laugh, lightening my tone and breaking into a grin. "I'm not that strung-up. But a beer would be great," I add, not bothering to bring up the fact that I'm not technically "legal" for another few months.

I wrap my arms around her from behind, squeezing her tightly to me. “That’s my nephew. I told you about Colt, right? Denni’s boyfriend?” I kiss her cheek, smiling. “It’s good to see you, Bahena. I’m glad you made it here in one piece.”

I raise an eyebrow, somewhat impressed that whoever this is as bold as she is. “Woah, wait a minute. Natara has a sister?!!” I turn to Natara, “You have a sister?!” I exclaim, before turning back to Neha. “Sorry, man. I’m Colt, Colt Warren. I’m dating Mal’s niece, Denni. So, tu familia es mi familia, I guess,” I say, laughing a bit. I stand up, my 6’6 frame towering over her, creating a shadow. I’m twice as tall as her and almost twice as wide.

Holding out my hand I say “I’m sorry. For getting us off on the wrong foot.” I look at my out-streached hand and then notice the mustard and ketchup covering it. “Ah, Jeez,” I say, wiping it on my board shorts. “Sorry ‘bout that.”

The guy stands up, and his tall frame immediately casts a shadow over my 5'9" demeanor. I am about to reply sarcastically again, but he did apologize, so I quickly think better of it. Instead, I half-turn around and rest my arm around Natara's shoulder.

"Yep," I confirm, "I'm her little sister. And don't worry about it," I add quickly. "My bad for snapping, too." He holds out his hand for a handshake, and I am about to take it when I notice multiple stains of ketchup and mustard covering it. I grimace slightly and glance up with a questioning look.

"Looks like you had a little battle with the condiments there," I comment, indicating his ketchup-and-mustard-spotted hand.

After a solid twenty minutes of blaring horns and backed-up traffic, I finally pull my car into the nearest parking spot. I turn the car off, grab my beach bag, and step out into the warm air of a typical July afternoon. The sun is high in the sky, and I can already feel its rays pounding into my tanned skin. After sending a quick text to my sister letting her know I’m here, I begin walking towards the water. I cross the pavement, and soon enough, glistening sand finds its way into my sandals. I can feel the sun-induced warmth as I pad across the sand towards the ocean. I stop for a moment and look around in an attempt to locate a familiar face. Although tinted sunglasses dim the sun slightly, I still squint to see around me. I think I make out Mal and Natara a ways down the beach, so I start towards them.

The sun is already nearly making me sweat, so I pause to remove the loose t-shirt and athletic shorts that cover my coral-colored bikini. I pass a group of guys lounging on the sand, and I hear one of them whistle a cat-call. I glance over and offer a coy smirk. I’m not shy by any means, but I like being slightly mysterious. Sort of hard-to-get, I guess.

After crossing half the beach, I finally make it to where Mal, Natara, and a lot of other people who look familiar (but I don’t actually know well) lay around. Oscar is chatting with Krystal a few feet away, and Amy sits on the sand with an open book in front of her. Blaise and Jeremy sit on either side of her, both laying down with eyes closed. Mal’a arm is draped over Natara’s shoulder, and I smile to myself when I see her nuzzle against his chest. I can’t help it—I’m just so damn excited that they’re finally together and happy.

"Hey, Nat!" I greet as I drop my bag on the sand beside her. "Hey, Mal."

After the condiments incident and his run-in with some quick sand, Colt was determined to have some sort of normalacy while at the beach. His shirt was off (which was getting him a few looks from the ladies. And, hey, Denni wasn’t here yet so he might aswell have some fun while he can.) and his bare back was laying on the hot white sand.

At the sound of someone’s bag dropping beside him, he scrambles up (not out of fright).Colt’s brow creases and he takes off his sunglasses to get a better look at the girl beside him talking to Mal and Natara. Sitting up, he asks “Who the hell are you?”

"Who the hell are you?" comes a gruff voice from behind me. I turn around and look down to find a toned guy staring up at me, brows furrowed and eyes squinted against the blinding sun. I'm not sure who he is or why he's hanging out around Mal and Nat, but he doesn't particularly strike me as the sweet, gentle type.

Slightly taken aback by his outburst, I boldly reply, "I could ask the same to you, buddy. But since you asked so politely," I continue, crossing my arms over my chest, "I'm Neha, Natara's sister. Now, who the hell are you?"

Character Development 3: Drugs & Alcohol

Have you ever been drunk? If so, explain your first time. 

Psh, no, of course not! I'm not even twenty-one yet. You bet I have! First time, hm, let me see... I believe I was 17, and I was at my friend's house. It was just her and I alone at her house, and her parents had a sick stash of alcohol, so we decided to take a few shots. Man, were we ever hammered! It was totally cray, but I woke up with a mother of a hangover. Ha, nope, never gotten drunk!

Do you like to drink on a regular basis? 

Huh? I don't ever drink, what are you talking about? Yeah, I do! Wait, that makes me sound like an alcoholic... Hold up! I like drinking socially, like, at least a few times a week. But I don't get like, totally canned that often. I save total intoxication for special occasions.

What sort of alcohol do you prefer?

Ewww, alcohol looks gross! I like having some variety, but I must admit: I do love Patron and Kendall-Jackson. I was raised more in the country-side, and my parents are flippin' rich, so I'd sometimes see them taking Patron shots when I was younger. I wasn't supposed to see it, granted, but whatevs! And, like any other good country-raised girl, Crown is my go-to whiskey. (ooc: I literally know nothing about alcohol--I got Patron and Crown from country songs I listen to, and the Kendall-Jackson from Google. Unlike Neha, underage drinking/getting drunk [or getting drunk in general] does not appeal to me, haha.)

Have you ever tried drugs? If so, which ones, and what did you think of them?

For once in this question set, I'm not lying! No, I've never tried any drugs or mood-altering substances. I may like my alcohol, but I have no appeal for becoming a crackhead or whatever.

I like alcohol! But as I said, drugs aren't my thing. I draw the line at alcohol. But even with that, I know when enough is enough, and I don't like, drink and drive or do stupid crap like that. I'm not a total idiot.

Character Development 2: General

What is your name? 

Neha Mansingh!

Do you go by a nickname or a pet name?

Eh, no, not really. "Neha" is about as short as a name can get. My name has driven my tradition-obsessed extended family absolutely crazy for pretty much my whole life--they're super into keeping "old Indian customs" and having some "pet name" for close family or whatever. Most of them can deal with it, but my grandmother insists on making my already-short name even shorter--"Ne," as in "knee," basically. It's embarrassing.

How old are you? 

I'm twenty! I'll be legally able to drink everything I've been drinking the past three years twenty-one in November. Yayyy!

What is your height? 

I'm about 5'9", give or take a fraction of an inch.

What is your weight? 

Kind of personal, isn't it? Somewhere around 130 pounds? Maybe 135? I don't know, I don't exactly sit on the scale all day.

ooc: I still like to, yes, and me and a couple others have been brainstorming lately. But the CoD RP has been a bit dead lately, and it's hard to get things going again. I hope to RP again soon, though; I miss being Neha!
