JWST's View of the Galactic Core
The James Webb Telescope's NIRCam captured a stunning image of the Milky Way's center, revealing 500,000 stars and previously unseen features within a 50 light-year wide region. The Baby Eagle Nebula
Also known as LBN 777 Lynds' Bright Nebula catalogue, the opposite to LDN Lynds' Dark Nebula catalogue, is an area of dust and gas reflecting the light of nearby stars.
Part of a much larger Taurus Molecular Cloud, a nearby star forming cloud of dust and gas, thought to be a few million years old.

Light from the Dark
T-Tauri stars are pre-main sequence stars, baby stars if you like, that have not yet reached the point of fusion of hydrogen, but gravitational collapse is occurring and drawing these stars towards core fusion. They are very frequently found around dark molecular clouds, material dense enough to block light from behind, and to create these stars.
Even at this tender age, usually below 10-100 million years old, planetary systems can already be formed.
Our own Sun would have come through this stage, being less than 3 solar masses (the limit of most T-Tauri stars).
They can also eject huge amounts of matter along their polar regions, creating a Herbig Haro object.
Most of these stars are orange to red in colour, as they are much larger in size, although gravity is slowly crushing them down, the extra size, like a red giant, drops the temperature, but it does also increase the brightness.
The brightest T-Tauri in our night sky is V773 Tauri (pictured above), but you'll need a good telescope to spot it, as it's Mag 10.68
NGC 4302 and NGC 4298
55 million light years from us and part of the Virgo cluster, these two galaxies are interacting, although not so visible in this image.
Both are spiral galaxies, the larger NGC 4302 and side on in the above image, is slightly smaller than our Milky Way, and similarly, has a dust lane cutting through the middle.
A star bridge between the two has been detected, and it is believed that the direction of travel is taking these two galaxies towards the centre of the Virgo cluster at speed.
M106's Ghostly Arms
The spiral galaxy M106 is a near neighbour to our Milky Way, at just 23 million light years, and is one of the brightest galaxies, thanks in part to a supermassive black hole on a bit of a matter binge.
JWST has captured this image of the centre of the galaxy, where a supermassive black hole 10 times that of Sag A* has been busy interacting with dust and gas clouds, creating an enormous amount of radiation, that then heats up the matter around it (in red/orange).
But there is a hidden structure nearer in to the centre, in green, what appears to be spiral arms made of dust and gas, most likely the result of jets pushing some of the dust and gas out from the black hole at super high speeds, which then ram into the matter around them creating x-rays and other forms of radiation.
Needless to say, it's not a very hospitable area of space for life, at least as we know it.
Orion Nebula
"The dusty side of the Sword of Orion is illuminated in this striking infrared image from the European Space Agency's Hershel Space Observatory. This immense nebula is the closest large region of star formation, situated about 1,500 light years away in the constellation of Orion. The parts that are easily observed in visible light, known alternatively as the Orion Nebula or Messier 42, correspond to the light blue regions. This is the glow from the warmest dust, illuminated by clusters of hot stars that have only recently been born in this chaotic region.
The red spine of material running from corner to corner reveals colder, denser filaments of dust and gas that are scattered throughout the Orion nebula. In visible light this would be a dark, opaque feature, hiding the reservoir of material from which stars have recently formed and will continue to form in the future.
Herschel data from the PACS instrument observations, at wavelengths of 100 and 160 microns, is displayed in blue and green, respectively, while SPIRE 250-micron data is shown in red.
Within the inset image, the emission from ionized carbon atoms (C+), overlaid in yellow, was isolated and mapped out from spectrographic data obtained by the HIFI instrument."

This new image of NGC 2264, also known as the “Christmas Tree Cluster,” shows the shape of a cosmic tree with the glow of stellar lights. NGC 2264 is, in fact, a cluster of young stars — with ages between about one and five million years old — in our Milky Way about 2,500 light-years away from Earth. The stars in NGC 2264 are both smaller and larger than the Sun, ranging from some with less than a tenth the mass of the Sun to others containing about seven solar masses.
