Today marks the four year anniversary of my brother’s sudden death. He was only 29 when he left this world so quickly, and I can still picture the place I was standing when my Mom called me. The emotions since have been nonetheless strange since he has been gone. I didn’t know how to deal with grief, and still really don’t. Some days I wish someone would bring it up so I can talk about it. Then other days, I have no idea what to say. It never gets easier. I think you just get used to it and learn to really enjoy the good times, and appreciate them when they come. Waking up on his anniversary is always weird because emotions flood back when family and friends start texting. Today I decided to live joyfully with my family, as my brother would want since he was so full of life. The day started with my niece and I putting on makeup in my bathroom and blaring @taylorswift. We got all dressed up to go on a fun family outing. Taylor’s music has definitely filled a void for those times when I need to just cancel the noise and just dance in my room. (It happens on the regular.) I am in awe of how she puts emotions and thoughts into eloquent lyrics. Something I wish I could do with all the emotions I have experienced the last 4 years. Thank you for your ingenious musical creations and putting your heart out there for us to use when we need to cancel the noise, or have the emotions hit straight home. Love you Taylor, and all the Swifties alike. @taylornation 💖💖💖
