“ Well Spouse says Subway is pricey so how about them apples?” She said playfully as she stopped by red lights.
The brunette looked at Audrey and raised his eyebrows. “Spouse? What do you mean?” he asked, raising his eyebrow.

“ Well Spouse says Subway is pricey so how about them apples?” She said playfully as she stopped by red lights.
The brunette looked at Audrey and raised his eyebrows. “Spouse? What do you mean?” he asked, raising his eyebrow.
“Yeah, that’s all” she said with a smile. She honestly just wanted to spend more time with people, she didn’t have too many friends and sometimes the lonelyness got overwhelming.”Don’t mind if I do, I’ll pick something expencive” she joked playfully.
The brunette looked at Audrey and smirked as she told him that was all. If it only took him to go out for a meal with her, he couldn’t complain. The two were friends, even if they didn’t see each other as often anymore. It would be nice to catch up over a meal and spend some more time with each other liked they once had before. He scoffed as she told him that she would pick something expensive. “It can be a bit pricey, but don’t go overboard, okay? I don’t want to be in debt because of you.” He joked.
“How about you buy me lunch next time you wanna hang out?” Audrey suggested with a soft smile. She liked doing people favors and not expecting anything in return, but she wasn’t one to argue about money either.
“That’s all you want?” Beau asked, double checking and wanting to confirm. “That’s little compared to what I thought you were going to ask for..” he chuckled, smug that it wasn’t a big ask because buying someone lunch was what he would normally offer anyway - if he wanted to hang out with them. “You can also make the venue where we eat - that way it’s worth it if that’s the case...”
“Don’t worry about it, I don’t mind the extra driving, keeps in in practise right” She said and gave him a soft friendly smile before looking back at the road again. It was sometimes odd being friends with someone you had been in love with, but with the years comes experience and now it had become really easy to be friends with Beau.Â
The brunette tapped the interior of the car hitting it in time to the beat of the music playing. It had been a while since himself and Audrey had been alone together for more than five minutes. Beau still cared about the brunette, but not in the same way he once had since he didn’t swing that way anymore. “I owe you though. I’ll put some towards your petrol or something when I’ve got some cash together..” Beau wasn’t rich, far from it, but he didn’t expect her to do favours for free. “How’s things been for you?” He asked, trying to make small talk so things won’t awkward.Â

Lately things had been getting from bad to worse with Beau. The brunette’s car was currently in the garage getting fixed and he knew he couldn’t attend their mutual friends get together if he wasn’t picked up from his apartment. He hadn’t spoken to Audrey in a while, but the two were cool with one another. There was always going to be some awkwardness in their relationship with one another as the two of them were exes, but they had matured a little growing up. “I owe you one, everyone else didn’t have room in their car,” he spoke as she drove him. He wasn’t used to sitting in the passenger side of the car. “I swear it’ll be the only time you have to get me from one place to another.”
