matteohq·:
“whoa, hey,” matteo started, the act of being offended quick to follow his words, “are you saying i’d look bad in orange?” his questioned rang out with a false attitude, eyes rolling away from the blonde and drifting to something that caught his attention through the large window next to them. “i think i’d look pretty damn good in orange. now, i’m gonna wear nothing but orange around you until i convince you otherwise.” hazel hues shifted back to the girl, a small, teasing smirk shifting over his features before he shook his head in disapproval. “you can’t. you said i was stuck with you and it’s the same vice versa - even if i do stick you with such a ringtone. but i swear, i won’t.” the boy reassured before leaning back in his seat, “ready to go? we have to go to a clothing store, i need to pick up as many orange shirts as i possibly can.”
Holding back her laughter as she shook her head at him. “Noo, never. I would never say that...” She replied with a frown. “More than once at least.” She added smiling at him. Deanna wasn’t able to hold back her laughter any longer, as she shook her head. “Noo, please don't! Orange is no the prettiest color, I would hate to have to avoid you forever, if you only ever wore orange.” She replied with a soft smile. Nodding as she gathered her things, and stood up from her seat, “Stuck forever, I mean even if you forever look like a traffic cone.” She teased pushing her chair in. “Do we really have to go get orange shirts?” She asked with a soft giggle.
romeo knew he probably shouldn’t be on the roof level of the apartment complex but he’s been doing this since he first moved there. it was too stuffy in his apartment and he liked looking at the stars. stargazing reminded him of his family and the countless hours they would spend staring up at the sky and marveling at its beauty. he sat on a towel and took a swig from his bottle of jack daniels. he heard the door of the rooftop close and he turned his head to greet the other, “care to join me?”
Deanna’s safe heaven was the roof level of the complex, especially at night. Not many people were crazy enough to actually come up here, and she liked to look at the stars. Almost made her feel at home. What she wasn’t expecting was someone else to be up here. She gave the male a soft smile, nodding as she took a seat. “If you don’t mind.” She replied softly. “Wasn’t expecting anyone to be up here. Sorry if I uh- interrupted anything.”
it was a night like any other at the bar, perhaps a bit slower than usual much to saige’s dismay. what they liked about being a bartender, after all, was the people they got to talk to. with less people, it meant not only that they were less busy mixing drinks, but also that there were less opportunities to strike up conversation. which was why, when they spotted a new face at the bar, they perked up, putting on their best salesman’s smile. “so, what can i get you? we just got a new rum home that’s just divine in a daiquiri.”
Deanna decided maybe on a change of scene for once. House parties were only so much fun, until you were running out of shoes that weren't ruined by frat boys being frat boys. The bar seemed low pace, and there wasn’t that many people which made her smile and let out a soft sigh of content as she sat the bar. She grinned at the bartender, nodding her head. “A man after my own heart. That’s exactly what I’ll have.”
“Summer term classes were made for skipping, yes,” Daisy said, waving her hand in the air dismissively as she tried to split her attention between her book and her friend. “But solely for the pool? I strongly disagree. I am perfectly content here in the shade.”
Daisy moved the lounge chair closer to the gate, specifically further from the water.
“I totally agree with you! However you need sun, its good for your skin, and the water will feel nice!” Deanna replied waving her arms towards the pool. “But I will be the amazing friend I am, and join you... in the shade... away from all the fun.” She teased with a huff, as she relaxed back into the lounge chair.
matteohq·:
“well,” matteo thought it over for a few seconds, eventually changing his mind when it came to the words he previously spoke. “maybe don’t have fears. at least around me, i’m the safety zone, you know?” his hands motioned around him before reaching for the glass of water beside him. “just don’t get me involved in anything illegal because i don’t know how i’d handle that. jail doesn’t seem suitable for either of us.” he mused before sipping on the water in his glass. of course matteo would be up for being the girl’s distraction when she needed him to be because he, now, looked forward to her being his. he may not be the first one to reach out or initiate the conversation that lead to him admitting, in any way, he’d need her to distract him - but he’d happily allow it. “as for that ringtone, what should it be? i’m thinking something along the lines of ‘don’t pick up the hone, it’s anna’ maybe?” the teasing words left his lips as they turned upward into a smile, his arms crossing over the flat surface of the table.
“Safety zone.” Deanna repeated with a nod of her head. It wasn’t a bad idea, and it sounded nice, had a nice ring to it all. She giggled, biting on her bottom lip. “Orange is not my color, and I don't think it would suit you very well either. So we’ll have to save all the really fun stuff for another time then.” She teased, winking at Matteo. He was right in a way, about the whole safety zone. She did feel safe, like walls may be able to actually come down around him. But she wasn’t sure about it all just yet. Gasping and holding a hand over her heart, and a pout on her lips. “Rude, I might have to rethink this whole go to person. Might have to replace already.”
I hurt the heck outta my foot outside, and I wanna cry. I have a few replies, to do! ALSO PSA; tomorrow is Deanna’s bday and she’s gonna pretend it's not. so if anyone wants to force bday celebrations on her please do.
dcisychcins·:
“i suppose a stay-cation could also suffice?” the brunette suggested as she lent back into her chair, a gentle smile placed between her cheeks as she gazed over at her friend. “or really, just some time to yourself. try and find something calming, a relaxing way to wind down. i like to curl up somewhere with a nice book.” she admitted, very briefly looking back on the numerous times she’d hold herself up in bed, or against a pew in the post-rush of church services. “a coffee and walk in the park, even. i’m sure you’ll find something. definitely an activity you deserve for working so hard.”
“Or a girls night with wine, and face masks, and tons of food that we probably don't need to eat, and movies and gossip.” She suggested giving the other a wide grin. She hadn’t thought it before the other had mentioned a vacation, or something relaxing. And maybe a girls night was just what she needed. Plus it would probably be better to hang out and watch Netflix was someone else other than the pitty party for one she had been having.
“I’m kind of the opposite,” he admitted, “if I can give up my shift then I’m like dropping it at every chance that I can.” Joseph supposed that that didn’t make him sound like a very good employee, but then again he kind of wasn’t. His boss was usually telling him to get off his phone or to stop procrastinating, but he was usually good with customers at least. “I guess you can think about all the things you’ll buy wig your thicker paycheck?” He bit his lower lip as he thought about her question, unsure of how to answer, “How do you mean? I’m probably about the same. I’m not carrying coffee or sweeping tables outside of work, but mostly the same.” He was teasing a little, a fact made obvious by the slight smirk on his face.
Ana laughed shaking her head, “I mean, that would work out for me. The more shifts you drop the more free time you have to hang out with me.” She teased lightly. Shrugging at his comment, “I mean, that’s a plus. Probably just end up eating out more often than not.” She bit back a smile, at his answering, rolling her eyes playfully. “How dare I ask such a silly question.” Deanna replied giggling softly. “What I meant was, what do you like to do other than carry coffee, and sweep tables?”
Summer sessions started yesterday, and I'm trying to get used to my new schedule. But I'll be around for a bit rn! If anyone wants to plot, or a closed starter.
matteohq·:
“probably,” he retorted with, head hanging because he knew she was right. for some reason, matteo found it hard to do such a thing - walk away from his work to try and find inspiration or just to catch a breath. the hard headed boy was way too dedicated and feared stepping away, even briefly, would come with some sort of distraction that didn’t allow him to pick up where he left off. “i will make sure to set a special ringtone just for you so when you call, i know to drop what i’m doing. just, please… not between the hours of two and six in the morning.” he teased, eyes finally peeling from the table below them before landing back onto the blonde. “fears? c’mon, anna, look who you’re talking to. you should be the one with the fears.”
Deanna shrugged, with a knowing smile. But she also understood not being able to walk away that easy. She flashed a grin at him about the ringtone comment. Holding a hand over her heart, “Aw, I’m special!” She teased, holding back giggles. For some reason being around Mateo was easy and she felt she was able to let her guard down. It was nice being able to feel that way with someone, it was just something about the others personality that made her want to smile. she pursed her lips, cocking an eyebrow at the male, “Oh? I should have fears?” She asked. Of course she did, but none that she could swear without getting way too deep and personal. Not only that they really weren't irrational. Anna didn’t fear many things.
bellstanzo·:
“nooo,” belle muttered, biting down on her bottom lip to suppress a smile. “i mean.. maybe just a little bit.” she took a couple bites of her salad while she waited for deanna to gather her thoughts, offering a gentle smile in support. “there’s nothing wrong with being homesick or having a few healthy concerns,” she pointed out. “but.. i’ve been thinking about getting a puppy.”
Deanna shrugged, letting it all go. She wanted the topic to be over with. When Bella brought up getting a puppy, her eyes lit up and her smile widen. “A puppy! You can get a puppy as long as I can baby sit for you!” She replied with a wide grin.
everly--yours·:
“School, right”, the redhead said with a smile that looked more like a grimace. Little did her friend know, she’d failed most her classes from the last semester. “You’re not relieved at all that it’s over?”
She shrugged, taking a sip from her drink. “I mean I guess I am.” She said setting her glass back down. “But at the same time, it gives me too much free time. School and work kept me busy, and now it’s only work. There’s only so many shifts I can cover.” she explained with a shrug.
daehycns·:
“that kinda sounds like what i do on a day to day basis, dee,” he commented with a laugh, his brown eyes crescenting over dimpled cheeks, and stole a fry off of her plate, “anyway, i’m never one to turn down some lunch.” chewing on his food, dae’s gaze moved away from deanna— slowly panning over the heads of the restaurants patrons, dragging across the slick marble walls, before finally returning back to his friend’s soft features. noticing a shift in her expression, something he couldn’t quite explain, dae leaned back into his seat and gave her a quizzical look, “hey, are you alright?”
Deanna gigged, nodding. She knew it was true, often she accompanied her friend. Only on days she didn’t drag him else where. “But exactly! I’m turning into you now!” She teased glaring at him as he stole her fry. She sighed shaking he head at the other. She sat back her seat, crossing her arms over her chest. She frowned nodding, “yeah of course. Why what’s up?” She asked playing it off. Anna knew she could only hide it from him for so long.
