Identity holds your permission. Who you think you are determines what you allow yourself to feel, do, and receive.
It begins and it ends with you.
Learn to detach, or if you already have, learn to get better at it. It will give you insight and clarity. Attachment isn’t the same as love, so don’t worry about the idea that detaching means you’ve stopped caring. You can care and love without being dependent on attachment.
Besides, this mostly applies to things, technologies, concepts, ideologies, and unhealthy physiologies more than it does to healthy relationships or people. In fact, it may even be that being detached is a prerequisite for genuine care and love. You are not dependent, and you are not enslaved to a subconscious need.
By nature, you avoid what makes you uncomfortable, and that includes your weaknesses. When you're bad at a certain skill, you tend to curve away from it and instead cultivate one that feels more familiar to you. That can work if you're fine with being where you are, or if you haven't cultivated awareness of your shortcomings (blissful ignorance, in a way). However, this becomes a problem when you aren't content with where you are, or when you desire to improve your skillset.
If left unchecked, you'll continue to circle around a closed loop, repeating the same practices and reinforcing a stronger resistance to practicing new methods or improving weak points. Personally, I find the best approach is to push against this resistance, getting comfortable with states of weakness in order to improve. It's a frustrating process and often feels unrewarding in the moment. However, it’s a path of development.
Given enough time, effort, and progress, you can find yourself having turned those weaknesses into acquired skills. You’ll also find that you've learned the ability to go through the rigorous process of learning. That ability unlocks patience, insight, perseverance, and fortitude within you.
No one understands you like you do. You can never know anyone like you know yourself. Be patient. Be kind. But above all else, love with caution.
I’ll always be your safe space.
"You should know that you are heavenly. You deserve to be reminded of that."
“I want myself back.”
"I'm so glad I found you."
Lately I feel like my life is a book written in a language I don’t know how to read.
Your very existence is a work of art.
“They don’t know what you’ve been through.”
“What do you do when someone makes you angry?”
“No one can make me.”
Pain didn’t break me. It introduced me to myself.
Easy-going because I’ve gone through hardships.
