So ive been a dirk Gently fan now since December and during these past months ive made tons of fan art

dirk gives compliments freely, once described todd as “perfect”, is generally excitable and british, so i feel like he’d have a long list of pet names to call todd (love, darling etc).

todd on the other hand is awkward and emotionally shut off, so i feel like pet names wouldn’t come naturally to him. at the same time he does call amanda "sis" (which i'm pretty sure no sibling in real life actually does), so nicknames/other ways to address someone he cares about isn't completely unheard of.

so my question is: if we decide that todd would in fact occasionally call dirk a pet name (or even just something other than "dirk"), what would it be?

i'm imagining dirk's excessive pet names and endearments prompt him to use one random one himself and once he sees dirk's starry eyed reaction, he knows he has to learn to add that to his regular vocabulary.

but which pet-/nickname could come out of his mouth without feeling too awkward and ooc? would "babe" be the most common, go-to guy endearment? anything very flowery or symbolic doesn't feel like todd (like "honey" and “sweetheart” are cute af but i can't imagine him saying those unironically). or would it be something descriptive of dirk? (sunshine?) or a nickname rather than a pet name? (what’s a nickname for dirk?)

i wonder what bart’s life was even like BEFORE blackwing. according to the wiki a now deleted tweet from *** ****** states she was brought in at age 13. but i feel like she’s been isolated or in some sort of trouble longer than that. where were her parents how was she even found

Why Lockwood & Co. deserved more seasons:

It should have adapted the five books ! Also we didn't getting Holly Munro, the hyperefficient Black girl hired by the agency in the later books. She's feminine and lovely and clashes a bit with Lucy at first but plays well with the team and helps them out quite a lot Oh and we absolutely deserve the Locklyle slowburn to continue. Not to mention I loved the show! version of George

They adapted 2 of the 5 books and set everything up in the first series and then it was canceled!

It adapts a series of five books and they only ever did two!! AND IT ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER!!!

It was seriously as close to perfect as I can just imagine a tv show to be.

Why Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency deserved more seasons:

Banger first season that I legit can't even get into because of how complex it is and how many layers it has. VERY COOL. If you watch anything from it watch the first season. It starts off really confusing but the more it unravels the more you'll be astounded by just how much of it is set up from the beginning. The second season I like slightly less compared to the near perfect first because I kind of saw it all coming immediately but that was also pretty awesome regardless. They set up one of the previously good/neutral ish characters to be an antagonist in season 3 which was hype. And thennnn season 3 never came.

Not only was this a fun show with an EXCELLENT cast (I love every character and I’m impressed by every actor (And There Are Many)), but at the end of season 2 you can see the next 2-4 seasons laid out in front of you. The character arcs were going to be fascinating, they had seasons worth of theme and material to play with, it was all going to be SO good, and it just doesn’t exist. Every time I rewatch the show it hurts anew, because it was all there! They had thought the future through and worked to set it up beautifully and all I want is to follow those threads and get to see how fulfilling the challenges they give each character are, but NO.

It left off on a partial cliffhanger - several characters were reunited and set up for future adventures in a very specific way - while one character was left on a very anxious cliffhanger and now we'll never know if she kills her evil best friend or not 😭
