âI just wanted a cup of coffee.â Ray said with a shrug of his shoulders, he honestly hadnât planned to run into Nora. âWe were in the future, we just got back and Star is âhomeâ. For now at least. I wanted my own bed, more to the point, my own bathroom, for a few days. Without all the others.â
A little furrow formed between dark eyebrows at her question, not really processing it at first. He thought it was obvious, why heâd decided to save her, at least it was obvious to him, but evidently not to Nora. âI remember you ordering a hot chocolate at Jitters, after weâd broken you out of that asylum. You were scared, of your power, of Mallus.. You didnât really get a choice Nora, or a chance to be anything but his vessel. You deserve a chance to be yourself, with nobody whispering in your ear, influencing you. You didnât deserve to die.â He sighed then, slipping his hands into his pockets and hunching his shoulders, half expecting her to brush him off as being too sentimental. âYou give yourself too little credit. I donât believe youâre as dark as you think you are Nora, or your magic.â
âi didnât meant here in the coffee shop, i mean here here, in this year.â she clarified, it was true, for a moment she thought that they were traveling and safe everything there or whatever they do. âthat should be annoying, share i mean, everything and all.â
she remembers that time, of course that when she was a kid she has a bit of those memories blurry but she does remember some of that, it was strange but at the same time, deep down, she felt relief that someone tried to save her and someone cared enough to did that. âhonestly? you are too sentimental, just...i donât remember how to be myself, i remember what i did, everything and how i was with my dad and all, that i never got the time to think about who i really was.â she admitted, with a small shrug now. evil? good? to her nothing was honestly black and white but she wasnât sure how she was, she just knew she can be like posion, and something like that couldnât be good for ray. âyou are too good and iâm not, thatâs the reality of things. your team is not going to be happy if they know that you are speaking to me, and here there is something i wonât repeat again or if say anything i will deny it but i think they are right, iâm like this poison, toxic even for you. itâs cute and naive that you see good in people or in me but i just canât see that, iâm trying but that doesnât mean anything...â
