Where's that meme of the guy putting penne pasta in his gun
Is the component Alonso
Imagine being the front running drivers, panicking and radioing your engineer about nerve damage AND brain damage because "I swear, I passed the backmarkers and there was only one Aston Martin and now there's two????" and being told that, much like Palpatine, Fernando Alonso has somehow returned
I can only watch the first ~50 minutes of the Grand Prix today, so I hope that two of the three contenders will take each other out at the start so I know who won the title before leaving the house
Baku 2025 qualifying:
At this rate Oscar is going to lose the wdc and honestly it’ll be on him as much as McLaren for having no spine
i disagree wholeheartedly, and honestly, i think this is one of the worst takes that people have about oscar
of all the curveballs that mclaren has thrown his way, this one wasn’t a bad one to take on the chin. it was only a three point swing on a weekend where he was already on the back foot and he had a 34 point buffer to play around with. i have a feeling that the conversation would’ve been very different if there was a win on the line. plus he already ignored the request to give lando a second tow in q3 (mclaren was heavily team lando all weekend, probably because they felt bad about the reliability issues)
it’s also not that big of a sacrifice when you look at it from a numbers perspective. coming into this weekend, lando would’ve had to win five consecutive races to make up a 34 point deficit. now, he STILL has to win five consecutive races to take back the lead. with 8 races left, those aren’t great odds. so statistically, lando’s not really in a better position than he was at the start of the weekend
oscar is, above all else, filled to the brim with integrity. he’s made it very clear from the beginning that he doesn’t want gifted wins and he doesn’t want to be on the receiving end of favoritism. he wants to win honestly because he knows he’s capable of it. that aspect of his character is one of my very favorite things about him, and it’s one of the things that sets him so clearly apart from lando
do i think it was super shitty for mclaren to ask that of him in the first place? yes. do i think it sets a bad precedent that goes beyond fair racing and starts to establish manufactured race results? absolutely. but i would’ve stood by oscar no matter what his decision was because i trust that he will make the smartest decision for himself, even if it doesn’t seem like it because he was only given bad options.
i will support him wholeheartedly whenever he crashes out, because i know it’s more than deserved. i will also support him wholeheartedly when he gives in to bullshit team orders because i respect his integrity and i know just how smart he is. i trust his judgement completely, and i respect the decisions that he makes
he’s still got a lead of 31 points DESPITE the bullshit war of attrition he’s been fighting against his team. for most of the season the points difference hasn’t gone over 16 and lando hasn’t even been able to close up that much of a gap. so if you think that oscar is going at a rate that will lead him to lose the championship, then i don’t think you and i have been watching the same season. and if you think that oscar - the same oscar who has executed countless ruthless overtakes and pulled off miracle q3 after miracle q3 - is spineless, then i think you don’t really know anything about him
shoutout to the boys for the safe synchronised dancing
Honestly, peak Ferrari fan experience going to my first GT race and watching them lose in the last laps to Valentino Rossi's team. Like, you can't even be mad about it 😅
Lewis ran over a groundhog and has damage? Yeah, that might as well happen
My whole family of F1 fans whenever George Russel comes on screen at the Roland Garros final
"yuki has earned and deserves the red bull seat" and "under no circumstances is a move to red bull a good thing for yuki's career" are opinions that can live in harmony. i'm mad that he didn't get the promotion and at the same time I know he should NOT go to red bull it will kill him.
