Chapter 159

Okay, this unusual post since we have a very interesting chapter. The chapter is about building Higuruma’s character. He seems to be a pretty solid character! I love this chapter and Higuruma!! Also, it seems like he will be important in Itadori’s side at least.

Japan law system is notorious with the 99.9% guilty verdict. Once someone is assumed by the public and system to be guilty, it’s very hard to be overturned. Higuruma is drawn to be the very rare few who sees the reality of this and tries to change the system from inside. Like Oe’s case, he was just happened at the wrong time and wrong circumstance. 

Money is power. He knows he’s fighting losing battle in court and yet, he still do it again and again. 

A bit throwback to Yaga’s words; to be a good jujutsushi, one has to be a bit crazy and highly motivated. Higuruma fits this to a T.

Frankly what he does here is parallel with what Gojo does; trying to change an old, rotting system. But at least Gojo have the power as the strongest, so he can gather and influence people to his side. But Higuruma is way helpless than him. He’s holding on because of his sheer determination alone.    

And so, here come the justice!

His Shikigami also symbolizes justice; sewn eyes and scales, reminiscent of Lady Justice who is usually depicted wearing blindfold and bringing a scales.
