Well hey would you look at that. I thought SJWs were supposed to be about love and I get told my family deserve death threats. Not me but my FAMILY, they are being punished for my action even though it is what I did. You know what this remind me of??? my take on Halle Bailey

I am irked by it because Little Mermaid is a Danish story, and in most adaptation she is white. There is a double standard here, when a white person takes the role of a character that was orginally black there is an outrage, when there is an opposite it is cheered as being progressive.

Don’t get me wrong, Halle Bailey is a gifted singer.  It is the blatant double standard that is just baffling. I think this written by an Anonymous at 4chan sums it up pretty nicely of my thought. 

“Why don’t we champion new cultural symbols that represent the down trodden or less privileged instead of just taking a popular white character and turning them to a character of color? Seems like a cop out to me. Why isn’t it worth the time to champion Moana or the princess frog instead (Tiana)? Makes no sense.” -  Anonymous No.803843893, 

Personally this feels like a disservice to me. Did everyone forget the beautiful Esmeralda and her kindness to the social outcasts? Anyone? It’s disappointing that The Hunchback of Notre Dame is forgotten when is so much better than current Disney’s works.
