i hate the rhetoric that i see a lot in this fandom that stan is a dumb jock like he’s not!! he’s a sweet and smart boy who cares about the world!!!! (plus i personally headcanon him as become an environmental lawyer as an adult because he wants to fight to save the earth and the animals even if he has to pass the bar to do it but that’s beside the point)

i was just thinking about this today actually. i mean, i definitely think stan is kind of jocky b/c why else would he have three football lamps and an endless supply of john elway-centric merchandise but not in the sense that he’s just big and mean and dumb but that he’s athletic and enjoys being active and he’s a good leader. he works well in teams! and that’s a very useful skill. i guess i tend to think of stan as being mostly average when it comes to academics? he’s a solid b student in my mind.. i do like that hc though and if anything i like it even more thinking about stan working that much harder to achieve his goal

anyway no! stan isn’t dumb! he’s shown to be very bright and has a keen eye for detail quite often. he can be pretty oblivious, but not what i’d consider dumb at all
