They gossip in sign language together right in front of the people they’re “talking” about.

Dustin, Lucas and max know bits and pieces but don’t know it fluently.

Will teaches Jane whilst in california and it’s all she talks about in her letters to mike for weeks but mike doesn’t like that will shared their thing with some else even her.

Robin also knows sign language but doesn’t tell them until post-season 5 because she wants to know what they’re talking about and thinks they’ll stop doing it in front of her if they know she understands. She’s wrong, she gets invited to join the gossip.

Like yes, there are some trauma elements that are similar, but will was fighting for his life alone for weeks, full aware of what was happening. holly was in dream land with other people to rely on when she realized she was in a bad situation. Do I feel bad for Holly and think it was wrong, yes. Was Will's wayyyyyyy worse, also yes

oh my fucking god this is phenomenal. cyrano de bergerac is a brilliant play and the painting in s4 will always haunt me because it was such a blatant usage of the cyrano trope but was never resolved :(

also, the symbolism of el's hair falling into will's making them look an extension of each other because mike is using el as a societally acceptable substitute for will... wow

Think about El's perspective in the drawing, the idea that she is facing Mike, completely unaware that he is actually holding on to Will. She thinks that she has it all, and yet there feels like something is missing: Mike's hands wrapped around her. Yet, she is so oblivious to the fact that what she is missing is him clinging back to her. I mean, you could even think about Will not realizing that it's Mike's hands because of being turned around, or maybe he does know, but feels selfish for clinging so tightly
