Winter is back in Bavaria. by Johannes Hulsch
2016
I almost didn’t write a reflection on this year, but I looked back at what I had to say and I always loved seeing it. Here we go:
In 2016 I went to Seattle for my first Northwest ACDA conference.
My niece, Harlem, was born, making me an aunt to 10 little kiddos.
I enjoyed my last (or so I thought at the time) Vandaleers tour.
I turned 21 and had a night I’ll never forget with my best friends.
I performed my last major choral work, Carmina Burana, with the Vandaleers.
I had a summer full of stress, fun, and laughs with my best friend, Mary.
I started my senior year of college.
I had a blast with friends at my last Idaho ACDA conference as a student.
I crushed my senior recital. What an awesome night.
I sobbed at my last Welcome All Wonders choir concert.
My dad turned 60.
I moved out of my apartment and back to Boise to student teach for my last semester of school.
I struggled this year though, in more ways than one.
But when I look back on this year, I realize so much has happened and how much I’ve grown as a student, as a teacher, and as a friend.
I’m gonna take this new year by storm.
I’m going to learn so much student teaching.
I’m going to be the first person in my family to get their bachelor’s degree.
And I’m going to get my first big kid job.
I laughed, cried, loved, and lost this year. This year was crazy and I can’t wait for the awesome roller coaster next year is going to be.
2017 is not ready for me.
