Friendly reminder: when people say ‘as long as you tried your best’ it doesn’t mean ‘the best you could possibly have done ever’ it means ‘the best you were capable of at the time.’ Sometimes ‘trying your best’ is just getting out of bed in the morning. There’s nothing wrong with going to a psychologist/ psychiatrist and saying that you think you might have ADHD and ask to be tested.

I did just that after all.

People worry that self dx would make the docs think you’re lying… But the test would prove that you’re not anyways :P

They won’t turn you away saying that you can’t be tested for ADHD if you think you have it.

I think with the internet, it would be assumed that you looked up your symptoms online at some point anyways.

Most adults would probably go in having a vague idea that it might be ADHD.

Its absolutely fine. Don’t worry about it.
