The energy of the concert vibrated throughout the venue until the end of the last song. Even until the group of five left the stage and the lights turned back on. Hyejeong couldn’t helped but to be mesmerized, though, along with her unnie who screamed her lungs out. “Whew, that was such a great show.. Huh, unnie?”, with a mischievous smile, she nudged the smaller girl who looked like she was still in the excitement trance of the show. 

Once they walked back out to where they came in from - the backstage door - she knew Jimin would went onto her separate way as she had “other appointments” to be at. Hyejeong didn’t mind. She knew it would’ve happened. “Alright, unnie. Be safe and just tell me if you need any pick up afterwards, okay? I’ll keep everyone informed so no one will go on a search for you.”, She turned around and waved her hand while making her bee trail towards the door. 

Her eyes went to focused onto her phone, telling the managers she would be needing to be picked up safely when she heard footsteps of a group of people coming towards where she was standing. Hyejeong turned her focus towards the direction of the sound and saw familiar faces from afar. There were six of them - five of the group members and one security member - but only one noticed her. With a sheepish smile, the tall girl fumbled and put her phone back in to gave him a shy wave of her hand. “H-Hey!”

It’s their second or third week already into their Japan tour–to be honest, Mino’s kind of lost track. Recently, it seemed like they’ve travelled more on planes than cars and spend more time backstage at concert venues than back home in the dorm. He always liked being on stage though, and at each venue, the fans were different and their reactions were always something that he’d looked forward to seeing.

Their concert had finished finally with no big problems, he’d managed to remember all his lines–which was something that he’d always worried about  when it came to Japanese concerts. He always found the lyrics harder to remember than the Korean ones, maybe it was because his Japanese was still somewhat rusty and broken.

Usually they would always meet up for dinner or something after the last of their concerts, but for some reason, there wasn’t any plans discussed and Mino had just assumed that each would be going their seperate ways once they’d cleaned up after the concert.

He’s quick to finish with cleaning up and he’s even following the security back to the waiting room to meet up with the managers and other staff when he notices a familiar girl figure walking up to him in the opposite direction. Mino recognises her immediately of course, as puzzled as to why the girl was there in the first place. “Hey....! My eyes aren’t deceiving me right?! Hyejeong-ssi is really here....all the way in Japan? Were you..? Did you just watch our concert? Did you enjoy it?

Ever since tour season had started, with the addition of his various appearances on variety shows and of course, never-ending work on his songs, Mino honestly just felt like he hadn’t had the time to breathe. He’d longed to just even having and afternoon or night off, just to hang out with his friends and not think about his responsibilities or schedules for even just a couple of hours.

And that’s why he’s waiting around the waiting rooms at MNET. He can’t really remember how and when, but somehow, during various meet ups with his friends from outside the industry, he’d come into meeting Sehun. It’d been an uncommon friendship, but strangely enough, they’d somehow hit off quite well. Plus he knew that the younger was probably in dire need of a breather too, giving EXO’s busy promoting schedules.

Supposedly, it wasn’t a queer sight to see at this kind of event; idols from different groups blended and mingled, no controversy could’ve stirred unless someone blew it out of proportion. Even with the thought, Hyejeong couldn’t settled her discreet nervousness. “I think most of them had eaten already… Or they can’t really eat before a performance.”, she chuckled between her breath before taking a whole meatball inside her mouth then realized she had company at the table. With her cheeks reddening, the girl chewed quicker than usual as if in attempt to hide the evidence. “Didn’t really want to eat with them? If… If you don’t mind me asking… Why, though? They are your members?”

Then once again, silence filled the void between them other than the small noises of utensils clashing against each other or against the plates. She thought of ways on how to spruced up another conversation intro, one that wouldn’t sent her to a downward spiral of awkwardness. Would it be awkward if she told him she had his song on repeat before? Hyejeong quickly pursed her lips to stopped herself right there. “O-Oh…”, with a shy smile on her lips, she nodded slightly to showed her acknowledgement of his introduction. He actually didn’t need one. “Is it really your first time? But… Nice to meet you, Mino-ssi. I know who you are.”, Hyejeong finally admitted and dipped her head in a shallow bow. “AOA’s Hyejeong. I… I think it’s the first time we get to talk like this, huh? It’s quite rare to see a YG group in these joint concerts…”

“Can’t eat before a performance...?” Mino pauses in mid-bite of his pork cutlet, brows knotted a little in slight confusion. “Really...? So then..they would just be performing on an empty stomach and be hungry throughout the whole thing?” He’d often heard and it’s not secret that idols had to go through rough diets–he was definitely one of those who had to watch their diets carefully but still, he could never imagine performing on an empty stomach. He can’t help but to laugh though, when he notices the girl shoving the whole of the meatball inside her mouth, even though there was that small pang for jealousy over the last meatball being taken from him, Mino just lets out a small sigh and continues to eat his pork cutlet. 

“Oh, me? There’s nothing wrong with the members, but...well..our leader, Kang Seungyoon, he always nags at me and he doesn’t let me eat a lot so..it’s best to avoid him sometimes during meal times!” Honestly he knows that it’s out of concern that his leader does keep reminding him of his diet, but one can only take so much of it, so from time to time–Mino considers these as his ‘escape days’, he finds a quiet spot and just eats by himself. He’s so lost in thought about his ‘escape days’ that he doesn’t come to his senses until the girl introduces herself–Hyejeong, she says. “Oh! It’s really nice to meet you Hyejeong-ssi. Even though, I guess we might have met in the passing before. It is..isn’t it? Everyone always considers YG to be the company of artists with no outside friends. Do you come to joint concerts often?”

Mina had really thought she’d lost that notebook for good; it had bummed her out quite a great deal because it’s something that’s been in her possession for several years now. She had been all set to get a new one soon, since it’s a surprise that the old one even has some blank pages left, but still, a lot of it’s contents are quite personal.

She had no idea if she’d left it in her hotel room back in Japan, but she’d certainly turned out the room she shared with Hyejeong, hoping to miraculously find that she’d actually left it behind. She’d checked even the lining of her suitcase even, when that hadn’t work, since she was actually pretty sure that she’d packed it with her.

In the end, a week passes without her finding it, and she’s just about given up on it (begrudgingly, of course), when she gets a message from a stranger telling her that they’ve actually found the notebook. She’d been overjoyed, because while the item is priceles to her, it’s not like a lot of people would be bothered to go out of their way to return such a ratty old notebook. She’d been so excited and grateful that she’d thrown caution into the wind, and asked the guy to meet up.

Now that the day has come though, all she can hope is that she’d made the right decision about going for a meeting, instead of just having him send the item to her by post. She dresses casually, and with not too much make up as well. The meeting place had been her choice, and it isn’t really all that far from her dorm. She keeps checking her phone as she walks to the venue, and as soon as she pushes past the entrance, her eyes dart around the area in search of the tell-tale pink cap.

She does find him easily, and she smiles as she makes a beeline towards the male huddled by the corner. “Ah, Minho-ssi..?” She calls out to him with a light tap to his shoulder, only to be surprised once he turns and she gets a better look at his face. “Oh!”

He somehow ends up growing more anxious and nervous as he waits for the arrival of this girl. They’d only exchanged brief messages a couple of times after their first initial contact–after all, Mino was somewhat unsure of what to say and what he could say to the girl through messages. The whole incident seemed rather awkward, and to be perfectly honest, he was pretty relieved that up until this point, the girl hadn’t really pressed further on how he’d found her contact details in the notebook. Living in a dorm with other members and growing up with a sibling had always taught him that notebooks were sacred and they weren’t supposed to be read. Perhaps the girl would be grateful enough to not have minded that he’d flipped through the notebook on occasions.

A quick glance at his watch tells him that there’s still another couple of minutes before their agreed meeting time but that doesn’t stop his fingers from toying with the phone in his hands. His common sense tells him that there’s still some time before the girl would come, but then again, he’d never gotten a reply for his messages to her so the brief thoughts of whether the “Maeng” would even show up starts seeping into and nagging at his thoughts. He’s just about to unlock his phone to check his messages for what seems like the hundredth time when he hears a soft calling of his name and a small tap on his shoulder.

Mino’s quick to look up and get up from his seat, dipping into a small bow at the girl. It’s only when he comes up from his bow when he registers who the girl standing in front of him is. “Maeng-ssi....I mean..Mina-ssi?” Never in his mind would he have expected it to be AOA’s Mina to be the one he was meeting up with. With an awkward laugh, he moves from his spot, making his way over to Mina’s side of the table and pulls out the chair for her before gesturing for her to take a seat. “Ah...if..if I’d realised that it would be Mina-ssi, I’d have given more thought towards my appearance!” 

It was definitely like him to sputter off into nonsense in such situations–the situation wasn’t exactly awkward, but it also wasn’t particularly not awkward. He’d met with AOA briefly during various stages and events before, the latest being their performances at the KCON in Japan. And he definitely was aware of AOA–his leader, Kang Seungyoon, apparently seemed to be a big fan of them. It takes him a second before coming back to his senses and slides the menu over to Mina. “Do you have any schedules after this? If you’re not in a rush, would you like to have a coffee first?”

There was some sort of a weird feeling as she walked away from the buffet, like people resenting her back. Hyejeong was too scared to looked over her shoulders and see who were the ones shooting daggers to her back but she couldn’t even pin pointed what did she do to deserved it. As she was starting to take a bite of a potato chunk, the male who queued behind her looked as if he was walking towards the table. Her eyes quickly shifted away to avoid any awkward stares that she thought just happened in movies.

“Huh…”, the question caught her off guard but a few seconds later, the girl waved her hand towards the empty chairs. “No– No one else is coming! Unless… My members come here without saying anything.”, her voice got quieter towards the end. It was pretty new to have a member of a male group approached her so cooly and suddenly. Hyejeong was used to eat in one table with males from her company but from some other company, some other group? Shyness definitely roiled inside her belly. “You… are not eating with your own members?”, the atmosphere between the two was ice cold and Hyejeong couldn’t stand it. Without looking right at him, she just focused on the dishes that neatly placed on his plate and his mouth as if the female could just figured out what he said from lip reading. 

She continued to eat the chunk of potato in silent and anticipation to the story he could shared with her, at least to melt away the awkwardness. Hyejeong wasn’t good with small talks and awkwardness. There really was no need for introduction as she knew who he was (Song Mino from Winner, went on Show Me The Money) and how she had seen him various times on TV. Never so much across from her, eating a piece of pork cutlet with his eyes also focusing on his food.

He didn’t really expect meatball-stealer’s response to be so....caught off-guard, but then again, he understood the response. It was somewhat awkward on his part to ask too, seeing as they didn’t really usually converse with girls out of their company much. Mino’d recognised her of course, now that he can see her face and not just her back (or getting distracted by the food). She was one of the girls from AOA (which apparently is a group that his leader was very into), and they had promoted alongside one another before. They just hadn’t really spoken before this.

At first, Mino had thought that the meal would be a quick and quiet one, he wasn’t really sure how to make conversation after all. But he guesses that the gods were maybe finally on his side when the girl was first to strike up conversation. “Eating with my members..? Ah...they wanted to eat Korean food, back at the waiting room. But I wanted to try the Japanese food that they had here! Besides, I didn’t really want to eat with them....” He breaks off a little, paying attention now to the piece of pork cutlet now. “How about you? Why aren’t your eating with your members...or would they really join you later?”

They eating in a bit of silence now and as they’re eating, Mino’s briefly wondering if it would be too obvious and bad of him to pull out his phone to search about the girl on Naver. While they’ve seen each other backstage at music shows and such, he really wasn’t sure about her name. Maybe it was the same for the girl too, so maybe it wasn’t so bad that he didn’t know after all. And maybe it also wouldn’t be too bad if he introduced himself, after all, they were at this concert together and he’d often viewed these concerts as a place and chance for them to mingle with other fellow idols. “Uh...so...I’m WINNER’s Song Mino...or just Mino, it’s really probably my first time at these kind of concert shows so...nice to meet you?!”

[ Mapo-gu district, 1:12 A.M – Pojangmacha stall ] 

It’s two days before Sunwoo’s scheduled shooting for his new drama gig and yet the said rapper is nowhere to be found (not by them, at least – ). 

Manager has been gushing about Sunwoo’s disappearance since yesterday, worried that Sunwoo might pull an unknown stunt (he won’t, Jinyoung –knows Sunwoo better than anyone– tries to reassure the manager with the prospect that doing anything that will harm the group is not in his nature, but that doesn’t stop him from being worried too) and paces back and forth to contact him in any possible ways.

The members has been trying their best to get a hold on Sunwoo, too, and the fact that his phone has been off for hours with no instagram updates whatsoever in the past 24 hours doesn’t help this whole tracking thing. Jinyoung, looks unbelievably calm on the outside, told his manager and CEO that it’s probably nothing serious ( “he might need some time – or a little break. he’s probably just stressed, you know?” ) but calls the said culprit almost every ten minutes, every time being greeted by the customer service or forwarded to the voice mail.

The company try to keep this on the down low, though. It’s bad if the media founds out – not when the group’s 5th anniversary is approaching and the drama script already being held by Sunwoo. Jinyoung doesn’t keep track on how long has it been since one of his bandmate has gone MIA, but as long as he can remember it’s already midnight and he’s hungry…. and alone. Sandeul and Dongwoo is off to their musical practice while Chansik comes back home earlier to catch his favorite TV show. Jinyoung still feels very much foreign to this whole concept of living independently, still, but somehow along the way he’s gotten used to the solitary nights or eating odeng at 11PM sharp in a tent with the mask disguising himself. 

And he figured that tonight having few bottles of Soju into his dinner wouldn’t be such a bad idea with the stress weighting him.

So he sits right there –no disguise attempt whatsoever– facing the foods, shoulder slumped and gaze droopy, but takes two soondae anyway and stuffs them into his mouth before ordering for more. 

“Ahjumma, two bottle of soju and a bowl of kimchi, please.”

It’s been a couple of years into their debut and while his diet regime isn’t as strict as before, the leader and the company’s trainer would always nag or have their complaints if he did end up putting on weight. Ever since young, Mino was always one who would call a chubby kid, it was easy for him to put on weight. So when he had to lose weight before getting into the trainee program, it was torture really. Maintaining his weight was also something that got to him at times. He just wanted to eat! It wasn’t as if he would go crazy and eat everything at a buffet, but sometimes, being so restricted in what he could eat drove him crazy.

And that’s why from time to time, he’ll venture out from the dorms, just for some fresh air and the occasional street food. One of his favourite places to go to was a pojangmacha stall, it was often filled with others who just wanted a quick meal or drink–paying attention only to their food and drink and not the others around them, which was precisely what he wanted really. He’d gone to such stalls a lot during when he was on Show Me The Money, and he’d come to see the stalls as a place for him to clear his thoughts–plus the food was always cheap. The stall he chose to go to today though, was relatively empty compared to usual days. 

He’d run into a couple of dead-ends as he was trying to come up with compositions for the upcoming album so he ends up ordering a bottle of soju along with his tteokbeokki and odeng as he takes a seat, flashing the ahjumma a smile as he makes his order. As he takes his seat though, he ends up taking a glance around the stall–it was a habit that he’d pick up, look around his surroundings and observing the people around him, more often that not, he’d ended up getting some sort of inspiration from them. He’s surprised however when he notices the guy sitting opposite him is a fellow idol–Jinyoung from B1A4, while WINNER hasn’t been actively promoting for a while, Mino’s still able to relatively recognise other idols and sunbae’s well. So he timidly bows his head a little as the other guy manages to catch his eye. It’s awkward to say the least, since he wasn’t entirely sure if Jinyoung would recognise him or even want to be recognised, he knew he didn’t want to be recognised most of the time he was out, so was greeting Jinyoung really the best thing to do? Is it proper etiquette to just greet the guy and carry on as he was doing just now...or should he had also made his way over to greet the guy properly.

So, after quickly going through the options in his head, he opts for the later and slowly gets up from his seat, making it towards Jinyoung and slowly bows again as he approaches. “Ah, sunbaenim...hyung...it’s good to see you here...?”

I mean, I know that there are some fans out there with all our information and such, but I didn’t really think that they would add us like that... { kkt } Yes! I followed up on Red Velvet last year....It’s a shame you were on that rookies stage with us, but I’m confident that we’ll have stages together soon, one day.
