ways to get to know you characters!
What was their childhood like? Was it traumatizing? or the best childhood any could have and how does it affect them in the present? Did they have a great childhood and still become a villain? Why do they just like being mean?
Putting them in the most random scenarios, like scenarios they would never be in and see how they would react and interact with the world around them.
Ex: A 50 year old wizard working at a fast food chain would enjoy that or hate it?
random scenarios:
Someone confesses their love to your oc (will they reciprocate the persons love or laugh at the person)
They get to make 3 wishes: what would they wish for?
Your oc sees a loved one who passed away (are they angry, happy, sad?)
They get a million dollars (are they overjoyed? Or are they indifferent and don’t care at all)
They’re dropped into a zombie apocalypse. Do they die immediately or survive?
They somehow end up working at a fast food chain (what’s there attitude/ work ethic)
They're trying to escape a prison. How will they escape out?(charming the guards or jumping out a window hoping they'll survive
They’re forced to play in professional basketball match or volley match, any sport you want (would they play could and get along with their team or would be constantly be tripping over their own feet)
Those are just a few ideas but you get the idea just put them in any random scenario
Your oc watches a fight break out between people they know (verbal or physical choice is yours) what they will do?
Will they watch? Try to stop it, help the person who's in the wrong in the fight or did they start the fight?
There are a lot of possible outcomes that could happen here and it can help you figure out aspects of your character's personality maybe there really confrontational or in different to things like this
What's their daily routine? Do they wake up super early or late? Do they go out a lot or stay home all day
What's their biggest fear? Are they terrified of snakes or are they scared of being alone. Again this can be anything from something really silly to something really dumb

i actually use these tricks when i wanna know more about my oc's so i know they work for me at least, everyones has their own way of working so don't expect immediate results / understanding
(sorry if something written weird my autocorrect is doing the complete opposite of its job and is changing things automatic even if it doesn't make sense tried to fix everything but might have missed something)
