Ivy: Doesn't hurt at all. I can't even remember the last time I saw you anyway. I'd say it's about time.
Ivy: Intrigued!
Ivy: Sure am. Still a night owl? If so, drop by Betsey's one of these days around midnight.

Lea couldn’t help but smile sympathetically, tucking a few blonde strands behind her right ear. “I’m sorry. They had short, dark hair – and they wore a yellow sundress.”
“Nah, it’s okay-— it’s not your fault.” Ivy gave a weak, but genuine smile at the blonde. “A yellow sundress? I guess that’s one way to not be mistaken for a thief; dress as cutely as possible. Who knows, maybe she really does just have a wallet similar to mine.” Ivy sighed. “Anyway, thank you for helping.”

He allowed a quirk of a brow escape him at her tone; in that moment she’d stopped sounding like enthusiastic partier and more like one of his old schoolteachers who were relieved he’d actually done his homework or managed to sit still and behave for the whole day - a strange image to associate with Ivy. “Yeah, it his nice out,” he answered as he glanced up at the sky. Would be a much more perfect night for stargazing in silence than for being in a crowd, he observed, but he chose not to voice the comment. “Least this thing’s outdoors so we can actually hope to enjoy it.”
Ivy looked over at him when his brow quirked, noticeable from the corner of her eye even if he might not have meant for her to actually see it. "-—What?" She asked almost incredulously, trying to find the source of the quirked eyebrow. Maybe they simply didn't know each other well enough yet. At least Ivy found herself wondering about this guy, and what his story was. She decided not to ask though, sure there was a time and a place for every question, and right now was not it. "Hope to enjoy it," she mirrored, mocking him in jest. "We will enjoy it, I promise. Maybe I can just get you drunk or something, and that will do it." She laughed and turned a corner, music audible in the air from a house further down. "It's right down there," she nodded and walked a little faster, pulling Rowan along still.

“Might as well just say you’re drunk. They might make a note on your file, especially if you’ve made a habit of it.” Morrigan said this without any harshness. She was speaking of what she would do if she were in the other woman’s shoes. She smiled at the other woman, saying, “If that’s true, you’re lucky. I wake up looking like a steamroller has come over me.”
"Yeah, that's a pretty good idea actually. They'll just file me under 'alcoholic', and every time I call they'll issue me a new card just like that, or something." Ivy chuckled at the thought, liking it far more than she probably should. "It's not true at all. We can't all be Beyoncé after all," she laughed. "I look like that too, so don't worry."

“Thank god. Rough week, actually. Been a long time since I was this sick,”
“Sick, huh? I figured you were just hungover or something-— would’ve made me feel better about being it honestly.” She chuckled. “Well, feel better soon. How contagious are you exactly?”
spencercaine:
Nobody who knew Spencer would have called him superstitious. He was too practical for that, but there were things about Bentley that had forced him to concede long ago that he didn’t have all the answers. He wouldn’t point a gun he knew wasn’t loaded at someone either, just as a precaution. “Can’t be too careful.” The corner of his mouth twitched in a smile though.
Ivy would never admit to being superstitious, but she would never open an umbrella inside either, or walk under a ladder or not worry when seeing a black cat cross the street. Her ominous nightmares had turned her into someone she had never wanted to become, and now she simply had to deal with it. “That’s true.” She wiggled the closed umbrella a little. “-—I wasn’t planning on opening it in here though, so you’re good.”

“It means this place doesn’t care enough to renew it. It’s likely there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. Your drivers license can expire one day but it doesn’t mean you’re incapable of driving the next. So don’t worry.”
“You say that like I genuinely thought I was incapable of driving now-— wouldn’t me believing that be worry enough to not let me drive now?” She laughed. “Doesn’t matter anyway. I prefer walking here anyway.”

“For the last time - no, we don’t sell marijuana. Yes we sell alternative healing medicines. They’re not the same thing.”
“Alright, well give me some of that stuff then, I’m not picky-— I’ll try anything at least once.”

“Well, lucky for me, I can’t -— I take it you had a pretty rough day, hm?”

Spencer strolled through the dusty aisles of the antique store, killing time on a lunchbreak. He didn’t need anything in there, nor had he even been inside for several years, but it looked more or less the same as it always had– full of useless and slightly overpriced crap. He paused by the umbrella stand, raising an eyebrow.
Ivy wasn’t even sure what had compelled her in the first place to take a different route home from work, but it somehow landed her in an antique store, trinkets and utter useless things rising around her like there was no tomorrow. Her grandmother would probably love this place, her sister too, and even Ivy had to admit some of the things in there were kind of cute. Not the umbrellas, but she needed one—- Bentley’s fickle weather had ruined her mood more than once after all. “Do you really believe in that stuff?” She looked up at the guy, quirking a brow and then looking back to the umbrella in her hands again.

“I’m no expert, but that certificate expired in 2014.”
“-—What does that mean though? Like, does it mean that a piece of paper is outdated, or does it mean I will die soon if I don’t get it renewed? I feel like I need to know.”

“It’s no problem– wait, really? I saw someone with a similar looking purse come out with a coffee. It might not be yours, but…”
“—-But it probably is, let’s be real.” Ivy let out a long sigh, nose wrinkling in light frustration. “What did the person look like at least? Maybe I can track them down and scare them into giving it back.”

“I will, I will,” Rowan said, allowing himself to be dragged along by Ivy as she steered him out of the forest - surprisingly adeptly, he noticed, although he couldn’t say if it was out of knowing the woods well or simply being just that eager to get out of it and to the party - and once in town through the streets and sidewalks toward the destination. “Where is this party of yours, anyhow?” he asked her eventually. “Someone’s house? A club?”
"Good, thank you. I'm really proud of you right now, you know." She said it with a tip of her head, not realizing she must have sounded like the most patronizing human being ever, when she in fact was being genuine. "It's at a house-— it's an outside thing, like a BBQ thing, I think. The back yard is huge so even if you're bored before the hour is up, we can... climb a tree and hide out there or whatever." She laughed to herself, elbowing Rowan playfully in the side in the hopes he would find her at least a little funny. "It's not far from here, maybe just a good ten minute walk, I think. It's nice out tonight, don't you think?" She looked up, not really noticing how mild the breeze was until now.

It looked like every other clutch floating around the town, that sure made it easy. Then again she wasn’t about to say that. Maybe doing something nice would tip the scales of karma into her favor. Not like she had anything else to do anyhow. “Alright, leave it to me. I’m pretty good at finding things. Everything but my sanity according to my parents,” she joked lightly as she sprung to her feet content to begin her search with the immediate area first.
Locating her clutch again might just turn out to be a lost cause, the fact that people were greedy, selfish bastards not lost on Ivy who might even have dipped into an abandoned wallet herself, if she had stumbled upon it herself. Still, it was less fair when it happened to her-— according to the blonde herself, of course. She prompted a curt laugh at the girl's words, the corners of her mouth turning up a little. "You're not my sister, are you? 'Cause that sounds a lot like my parents honestly." It was true. Ivy's parents never understood her, not like they understood her twin at least. Not that she blamed them-— Sage was everything Ivy wasn't, especially all the good things she wasn't. “Where should we start? I feel like it’s not actually gonna work.” Ah, Ivy Knight, eternal pessimist.

Sawyer: Yeah, Bentley.
Sawyer: You're fucking with me...
Sawyer: How'd you wind up in this shithole? I've got a valid excuse.
Ivy: So Bentley is the town you're from... Well, shit.
Ivy: Nope, I'm serious. It's a long story though, but the short version is; my grandma lives here and I needed a change of scenery.
Ivy: Are you really into ghost stuff now, or is someone fucking with you?
