i kinda want to talk abt how yu isnt into receiving presents bc firstly, they moved around a lot when they were younger, so they had to keep their own personal belongings light, and a bigger deal ( in their mind at least ) whenever they and their parents fought, and yu was in the right, their parents would try to smooth things over with presents for them, or when they want/wanted something from yu, they’d buy them things to try to sweeten the pot and get them to go along with
