Summary: Mia asks for Magnus’s help to save Jaylen’s life while she reconsiders Lydia’s offer.

Jumping through the portal, Mia held tight to Magnus’s hand with the excuse that they’d get there faster with both getting into it at the same time. Truth be told, holding his hand actually made her feel safe.
She sighed when they hit the ground on Hotel Liv, shaking off those feelings; her focus had to be getting to Jaylen and saving him.
“Which door?” Magnus asked once they reached a large corridor with multiple doors along it.
Mia looked around for a second, and then turned back to her old friend. “None of them. Whoever did this might try to come here. I had Jaylen put into one of my secret rooms.”
Mia tapped the walls for a couple of seconds.
“Per angusta ad augusta, semper fidelis.” She mumbled and pushed the wall forward, revealing a dark, narrow corridor.

Summary: Mia adapts to her new duties as Raphael’s second in command as he leaves the hotel for a couple of weeks and she has to decide whether she wants to help Lydia find Camille or not.

Mia didn’t remember when she woke up or what made her suddenly feel the urge to walk around the hotel. She left Raphael sleeping, finally looking peaceful, and decided to take a walk. Perhaps that was what she needed to take her mind off things, off of the fact that everything would once again fall apart whenever Raphael woke up. That was a mess she definitely didn’t want to see.
The hotel was too quiet; Mia could hear her own footsteps. It didn’t seem right for a home of vampires to be quiet at night but they all knew why the silence was needed. They were respectful – or maybe scared – enough to keep whatever comments they had to make to themselves, or at least they were only whispering them; probably praying that Raphael never heard about it.
Walking in those dark underground corridors always gave Mia chills. Not that she was scared, but it was a reminder of the place she that had once been her own personal hell. The basement was not a place she liked to return to, which got her wondering why she had been drawn to there in the first place.
