As you all can tell from my posts over the past year, I have been going through LIFE!! Life doesnât get any realer than when you go through divorce. The trauma of divorce is real. The hurt is deep. The disappointments run through your head day and night. The shame keeps you isolated. The betrayal is painful. People with no business in your marriage will talk to you like they know you based on what other people make you out to be. It isâŚpainful. Itâs hard to look at yourself and realize your mistakes. But itâs the only way to grow and move on and love again. And the pain at times seems unbearable. There have been many times where I was in bed for days at a time, unable to lift a finger and literally crying for 15 hours. Itâs hard to love someone so much and all you see is brokenness and pain. How can 2 people who have so much love for each other find it so hard to reconcile? How can 2 people who built a family, an entire life with children find themselves in a place where the grass on the other side, even if we know itâs not perfect there, seems like the better option. How can one leave their family? If you have been through divorce, you know the twists and turns. I share my story so candidly because I know the loneliness and sadness and confusion and pain of divorce â and I want to use my life â even if Iâm imperfect â I hope to use my life lessons for good to others. I still believe in true love. I still believe marriages can be saved no matter what happens. I still believe that love can be rebuiltâŚbut only when both people are willing to put in the work. There is no family without mom and dad and as much as we devote our lives to our kids - we first need to devote ourselves to our spouses first. I still believe that I am a good wife - a great wife!! I continue to learn and grow. I was a young wife at 24 years old. I was so naive about marriage. And now, I know so much more. And even if youâve experienced divorce and brokenness - I believe that God can restore your heart and make you better. If not for your former spouse, but for a new love where you can truly blossom. â¤ď¸ http://ift.tt/1OYE3Oi
