I’m back from camping!! I saw a new bird every day!
BEFORE YOU GO (I know this is a long post)
There IS Photography if you just open the post and scroll down!! You know I wouldn’t just starve you guys!
Day 1: Steller’s Jay
Day 2: Brown Pelican & Marsh Wren (also saw: Double Crested Cormorant, previously logged. Unconfirmed potential Wilson’s Warbler sighting, unlogged.)
Day 3: Pileated Woodpecker
Day 4: Black Oystercatcher & Swainson’s Thrush (also saw: White Crowned Sparrow, previously logged.)
Day 5: Western Gull, Common Merganser (female), & Spotted Sandpiper (also saw: Black Oystercatcher, Brown Pelican, and European Starling, previously seen but not logged until that day. Heard: Barred Owl (not marked due to lack of line of sight))
Day 6: Vaux’s Swift (only partially confirmed. Birds flocked in a large group and looked similar to swallows, seen only in passing. Upon using Merlin on the position, the swift was the only brown swallow-like bird in the area. The birds were perched on a wire and flew off when driving by, so a closer look was not viable. The bird was logged anyway due to the unlikelihood that the birds were instead Bank or Rough Winged Swallows, both species I had not previously seen in real life.)
I also read the first and listened to the second books in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series throughout the trip, mainly reading the first book’s physical copy throughout the time actually camping, and listening to the audiobook for the second installment of the series on the car ride home. Book 3 has just barely been started.
(Super good series I highly recommend it.)
Also saw a bunch of banana slugs
Currently working on a video compiling all the photos I got to the song Run Rings Right Wrongs by Cosmo Sheldrake which I have to do through flipaclip because I can’t get any media platform I use to work quite as well. ~500/4400 frames done so far, so that’s a plus at least. C:
Also idk if I’ve made it clear on here yet but ‘C:’ is a friendlier ‘(:’ if that makes sense. It’s more upturned and deeper smile, sillier and more wholesome. (: feels almost sarcastic and mean, but that’s just my perception.
