âNopee!â Tris laughed. âYeah, definitely, you canât stop smiling when you talk about her, so, yes. You definitley made the right decision.â Tris said, smiling brightly at Jackson. âOh god, look at you all in loveee.â
"Oh lord, this is getting all embarrassing for me now, isn't it?" Jackson laughed, the grin permanent on his face. "Did you see that she hurt herself in the maze? It means I'll have to let my soft side out and comfort her" Jackson smiled.Â
"I donât think Iâve ever experienced this much pain before." Ryan grumbled, her leg propped up while she laid on a bed in the homestead.Â
Jackson laid down next to her, on his side; his big frame just about fitting on the small space that was left on the bed. He placed a soft kiss onto her cheek. "I'm sorry about the pain" Jackson quietly stated. "It'll get better soon - Â and until then you'll have me at your side comforting you until it gets better. What could be better than that?" he added, with a smirk; loosely placing his toned long arm across her petite body as he cuddled slightly into her.
âYeah, well I saw a blush there.â Tris teased, still laughing. âNo i would never do that, but still.. I told you so.â Tris laughed. âAww thatâs so cuteâ She said, smiling at Jackson.
"Damn it!" Jackson chuckled, lifting his head up again. "You're never going to let me live that down now are you?" he smirked. "I think following my heart was definitely the right decision. She can just make me happy, lifts my spirits up when I'm down in the dumps and all that klunk" he blushed.
Yeah, Cleo was talking about keeping one as a pet. I told her we couldnât afford it, both for food and feed for the animal. But itâs true you canât get sentimental about them, theyâre food at the end of the day.
Cleo, and a few others have talked about it. I'm not against it, but it would definitely be hard to handle. Like, if someone wanted to try - go ahead, but I won't be responsible for it. Exactly. It's better just to try and get the job done, even if that does make me sound heartless.
She let out a shaky breath âIt was horrible.â
Jackson was hearing about people having lots of bad dreams lately, or on the opposite hand not being able to sleep at all. "Nightmare?" he asked, quietly. "A lot of people are having them lately: Bradley and Tris being two of them. What happened in it?"
"Yes exactly, nobody knows what we are like out of here, and its pretty creepy to be honest with you. We didnât even get a chance against anything, we were just taken. You did? Wow, lucky man."
"It is creepy. With our memories on little details of life, it could totally transform. I guess that's just the thing though - they don't want us to now ny details. They want us to uncrack this place like a code. I actually did, Bradders. I'm very lucky, quite proud to be honest."
Nothing I was just⊠please, donât talk about sleeping.
Can't sleep? You're not the only one over the last few days. I've had multiple people come up to me and talk about having nightmares over all kind of different things.
Tris smiled brightly at him, genuinely happy for them. âNow who is the one blushing!!â Tris laughed. âYeah, I should actually say: I told you sooo..â Tris teased him. âHaha, Iâm honestly glad you did and that it worked out.âÂ
A smirk had appeared on Jackson's face. "Me, unfortunately - I never blush, get a grip Jackson" he chuckled, trying to cover up his face with his hands. "You should say it, shove it in my face and all that" he grinned. "Me too! It was definitely something" he laughed, looking down again.
Katerina was walking quickly while trying to keep her eyes open. She leaned upon the tree. After few minutes, she heard someone was calling her name.â What ? â she looked back.
"I was just saying, what's got you in a rush" he asked, politely. "You usually just want to stay put somewhere and sleep" he chuckled.
Annelise had been having nightmares for the past week. Tonight was no different, she sat crying silently on the front step of the homestead not knowing the glader behind her. Her eyes starring at the stars.
Jackson swiftly made his way forward to where Annelise was sitting. He lent down and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, upon noticing that she was crying. "Annelise, are you alright?" he asked, quickly. "Please don't cry"
âJackson! Oh my god that is amazing!â Tris smiled brightly. âIâm so happy for you too. I knew you would make the right decision.â Tris said to him, genuinely happy for Jackson.
"Thank you Tris!" Jackson laughed, ducking hid head down slightly to hide the soft blush he had going on. "Bradley and you just told me to go with my heart - so I did, and look what can happen from there."
âYeah i think he is.â Tris replied, still looking at the ground. âHey Jackson, on the other note, have you talked to Ryan yet?â Tris smirked.
"That boy doesn't stop working, does he?" Jackson sniggered. A blush appeared onto Jackson's face. "I might have done" Jackson smirked. "I might have just went with my heart and got myself a girlfriend" he chuckled.Â
âNo, but I just donât know..â Tris said silently. âI havenât spoken to him in a while anyway.â She replied.
"I haven't either now I come to think about it" Jackson stated. "He's been a bit busy hasn't he?"
"Yeah, puke could be addded to that list of gross thing we have to deal with. And that thought, of the animals being innocent? It sort of leaves my mind when the blade touches itâs skin. I feel bad when itâs standing there, but once the first cut is made they become⊠meat. Is that a bad thought process to have?"
Hm, suppose that's not a bad way to look at it. No, it's actually a good process. I know some gladers chose to see them as pets, get more attached to them and all that klunk. Maybe you're viewing it in a better way than some of the others, thinking logically about it and all. It is meat at the end of the day - they're the things keeping us from starving."
"Youâre fooled then!" Kepler exclaimed. "We need to find out more than just that thereâs evil creatures after us and that weâre locked inside an area by a giant maze."
"Or maybe not. You can't just give up, otherwise you've gave into whatever this is already; as you don't want to go on and all that lunk" Jackson stated. "Obviously - but that's not happened yet. I think everybody wants to know more than that. It's common sense. That's why you've got to have even the littlest faith in your fellow gladers, you, me - because maybe it'll be one of them finding something new sometime."
"Weâve been trying for three years!" Kepler stated, loudly and angrily. "If there was one, we wouldâve found it by now!"Â
"Don't you think I know that, shank?" Jackson stated, clearly. "Maybe, on the other hand maybe not. As I told you - we can't give up hope; you can't ever be certain with this place."
