Day 2
Hurray! Inspired by Nicholas Wilton's Creative Awakening challenge, I've started making pictures everyday(ish) and it's making me profoundly happy. I've started countless daily / weekly art challenges over the years and they've never stuck for long. I don't want to jinx it, but this one has lasted 27 days and counting...
I sit down, set a timer for 20 mins, close my eyes, slow my breaths, and take the lift down from my head to my belly (heart??) and see what's down there. Sometimes it's feelings, but usually it's pictures. And I put them on the page as best I can, with zero judgement. That's it. I have no idea what will be there before I begin - it's literally like opening a box and seeing what's inside. And what has been a very exciting discovery, is that there is always something there... and even more exciting is that I have no idea what there will be because it's not coming from my head - and ANY break I can get from my thinky thinky brain is a godsend.
I've been listening to the excellent War of Art by Steven Pressfield this week, and I'm going to challenge my resistance by sharing my pictures here. Here's to keeping on keeping on...

From the prints of Edvard Munch at the British Museum to Ruskin and Turner at York Art Gallery, here are 10 exhibitions not to miss this April.
It’s wonderful to see Quasi-Monte Carlo recommended by the Royal Academy as one of the top 10 art exhibitions to see this month!

Here’s the trailer to Paul Simon Richards’ brilliant new film, Quasi-Monte Carlo, showing in Bristol’s Spike Island until 16th June. It’s been SUCH a privilege to be part of this, such fun every step of the way over the last 2 years... I pinch myself that I get to do this and call it work.
Made in association with Film London Artist’s Moving Image Network and Arts Council, England.
