New Photo's added to the PHOTO's Tab. Check it out! 2014 has been an awesome year, and 2015 is going to be even better.
I recently recorded some vocals for Tip-Top and their new Good on ya Mum campaign. Check it out! You can choose your own lyrics and backing track and then send it straight off to Mum as a cute little cheeky message. This recording was a great experience working with the Tip-Top team and the guys at Sydney's Sound Reservoir. What a great business!!
Click on the title and be whisked away to the tiptop page to send mum a message :)
NOW, let the bread jokes begin!

The Never Changing Pub Crowd
One thing that has always surprised me on my journey through the realm of The Covers Gig is the fact that a small portion of 'pub goers' are still the same stereotypical character as they were when my mother was gigging around 15 years ago.Ā
Let me paint a picture for you (I'm sure you'll recognise them). In their early to late 40s (although I've noticed them getting younger :-/ ), they are typically found to be wearing shorts, thongs, a beer or football related polo shirt and sporting almost all of their original teeth⦠almost.Ā
Whilst I may poke fun at their appearance, they have to be one of the most adoring audience members (the majority anyway). Always clapping, tendency to whistle and always yelling out to play their favourite song: "PLAY KAYSHANNN". To which, might I add, this song is sooooo old now, how does it still get requested?!?!?Ā
Now, the thing that my mother and I noticed with this particular pub goer (to which I feel she has passed this curse of sorts over to me), these guys are not afraid of talking to a pretty lady, especially one who just sang Stevie Wright'sĀ Evie.Ā They're almost old enough to be my father and yet the liquid courage they've consumed all day makes them feel like James Bond. My mother used to come home with the same stories. She felt she had some sort of magnet attached to her that attracted them over, begging them to interact with her. Even though she would clearly state on stage that her husband, the guitarist, was present, the James Bond effect was far to strong. This is still the case, though I unfortunately have no husband present to fall back on. I just have to whip out the imaginary boyfriend card. They are, in a sense, similar to the The Clinger character I introduced to you last week⦠just creepier. But they are lovely. It's definitely a complement that I do sincerely appreciate. It just amazes me that this type of character has never changed and I don't think it will. 30 years from now I may be sitting listening to my own daughter tell me the same stories. That will trip me out!Ā
Blog??
Whilst blogging has been around for some time now, i still feel fairly new to the concept. I've never really felt like I've had anything to really post about⦠until now.
As a musician I have the privilege of entertaining audiences throughout Sydney and the Central Coast. I have noticed one thing though: the entertainer has become the entertained.
Some audience members tend to leave a lasting impression, whether its due to there kind words or, in most cases, their weird-ness. SO, I've now decided that these weird and wonderful moments deserve to be shared with you all. So be prepared, some of the moments I witness are so out there I'm sure you will be thoroughly entertained!
To begin with, let me introduce you to a reoccurring character that i like to call 'The Clinger'. I don't know how, but at almost every gig there is always that one person that seems to be starved of human contact. Therefore, when 'The Clinger' is presented with someone who responds to their simple "hello" they see this as an open invitation to then proceed with their life story. Now, i'm all for a good chat, but a conversation with 'the clinger' is, in most cases, VERY hard to escape from! When you have been singing on stage for 40 minutes, whilst hydrating, the bathroom tends to be a high priority, not a conversation that revolves around 'the clingers' day with the mechanic! The conversation usually ends up feeling like you're on a round-a-bout that you can't get off! The topic tends to return to the start and then repeats itself!! They are usually so lovely though, I find it hard not to stay and listen (whilst doing the 'i'm busting for the toilet' dance). Anyone who gigs in the covers world i'm sure will relate to meeting a 'clinger' or two in their time. I both love and hate them haha!
If you have any clinger stories, I'd love to hear about them!
Any-hoo, till next time :)
Ive always loved the idea behind the word 'invisible' but i never knew how to approach it without it sounding like a sappy 'poor me' senario. This point-of-view came to me after a random chat with one of my housemates and after listening to a lot of "The Weekend". An official recording will be released in the next few months. This is just a taste
I'm a lover not a fighter ;)
āI think itās really important for kids to understand that itās ok to get in your garage and sound like shit. What Iām afraid will happen is someone like my daughter, who loves the Beatles and loves singing and has a beautiful voice, will watch a TV show where you have to stand in line with 800 other people and then walk up to a judge and sing a song and have them say, āNope youāre not good enough.ā Can you FUCKING IMAGINE what that does to the collective psyche of the next generation?!ā - Dave Grohl

We had an amazing experience supporting Wes Carr last night at Lizotteās. I always love meeting artists that have maintained their down to earth nature. And MAN, what a voice this guy has!
Really want to thank fellow musician, Adam Black, for sharing the stage with me. Check him out! www.facebook.com/adamblackmusic
