I am sure that others have mentioned this, but I really do appreciate how the recent DMD shows have dealt with sex and intimacy.  I am particularly talking about how in both Khemjira and Duang with you, first sexual scenes between the main couple have not included penetrative sex.  The fact is that there are multiple ways to be sexually intimate with your partner and they can be just as fulfilling for those involved.  I really appreciate that especially for the first time between these characters it makes sense that they move more slowly.  Not to say that I mind when it goes from 0 to 100 if it makes sense for the characters, but that is the point, it has to make sense for them.  Jet is a very impulsive person so it makes sense to me that he would jump straight in (and Charn is very overwhelmed and willing to follow his lead).  Khem and Pharan are more reserved so it makes more sense that they would take their time (Qin too).  

Which leads me to another point, the intimate moments between these different couples feel very different, as they should given the personalities are so different.  There was a lot of joy and laughter with Charn and Jet, and a lot of reverence and maturity between Pharan and Khem.  With Duang and Qin, it felt more youthful and spontaneous in a way that makes sense for college guys.   It’s not one size fits all for the NC scenes which is very good and satisfying for someone who cares about character continuity.

Only Friends: Dream On Character Rankings Episode 3

Well well well this finally got interesting as the reason behind the Jack/Dean breakup (and possibly Jack's hatred of Rome) is revealed! Also, everybody has some pants they're trying to get into...and some succeed! Last week y'all proclaimed Rome the game master, let's see how these boys shake out this week!

🔺1. Raffy

Dia-fucking-bolical. Raffy finally decided to play for keeps rather than for funsies and set off a nuke...that backfired HARD. He was either gonna be top or bottom this week but I gave him #1 because he really mansplain-manipulate-manwhored his very best this ep. He realised he had to get Dean totally out of the picture and by god he tried his very hardest. Too bad vulnerability is Viagra to Jack.

🔹2. Dean

The champion performance he gave the doorman to get into Jack's apartment almost put him at the top this week. This man is an ACTOR. He really said 'which eye do you want the tears from, inner or outer corner?' back in ep 1 and one thing I love is a bitch who is confident in their skills. Now that his hosting secret is out he's going to go scorched earth to find and destroy whoever put his business in the streets, and I. Cannot. WAIT.

🔺3. Boston

The way he sat on the couch between Arnold and Tua cracked me UP! I KNOW he sees the threesome potential and he's trying his best to make it happen. A fuckboi gon fuckboi, period. My man has not worked on that impulse control problem at all, bless his heart, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

🔻4. Jack

When he bundled up Dean and literally threw him outta his house, I had to pause because I was laughing so hard. Jack's lowkey a funny dude but man does he have control issues. You'd think he'd prefer not to surround himself with chaos demons because of that but I guess that would be too easy. I don't think his reunion with Dean will last very long, because ultimately Dean refuses to be controlled, but then again who knows? Also, love to see how he's gonna keep this play from going down in flames.

🔻5. Arnold

I'm sorry, there's simply no way this man doesn't know what he's doing. He wants Tua bad, but he also wants that sweet sweet plausible deniability. 'Oh Tua, I feel sticky is it ok if I take a shower (naked in your bathroom, probably wearing your clothes after)'. If Tua makes all the moves, he doesn't have to. Too bad he's up against the most cautious of all men. Boston might actually be good for these two, he does tend to have a catalysing effect.

🔺6. Tua

I mean, I do feel a little bad for him, if he caught feelings for Boston and his dick wizardry, but he does seem to have mostly chalked that encounter up to the game. He doesn't like him, but he's not going out of his way to not like him. Interesting though that he hasn't made it crystal that round 2 isn't on the agenda...maybe because it's not not on the agenda...

🔻7. Rome

I guess Rome had to take some L's this week to balance out all those W's from last week. In short: he got played. All Raffy had to do was bat his eyelashes and slip a hand down his pants (in a public pool...EW) and he was willing to do anything he asked. Including taking him on a 'date' that was actually a reconnaissance mission. Rome's more likely to cut him off than try to get back at him, but he is 100% weak for that dick and will absolutely fold the minute Raffy tries to get in his pants again. Absolute manclown, 10/10 no notes.

I’m so intrigued by Shulang’s emotional/psychotic breakdown in Episode 10 when he finds out Fan Xiao has cameras all over his apartment. It’s the first moment we’ve seen his mind splinter in the same way as Fan Xiao’s, with the distorted vision of reality and multiple versions of himself. It’s especially interesting to me when exactly it occurs — not when Shulang finds the first camera, or even when Fan Xiao storms in to interrupt him with the escort. It’s only when Fan Xiao makes a crude comment about Shulang’s sexual preferences, specifically how he’s no longer satisfied by topping.

In my opinion, Fan Xiao isn’t just saying this because he’s just being cocky; he’s saying it because he’s seen proof. Fan Xiao deliberately mentions having cameras in every part of Shulang’s apartment, even the bathroom, and this is when Shulang really loses it. The implication here seems to be that Fan Xiao has voyeuristically watched Shulang masturbate once again, just as he did in the car, except this time, Shulang could only get off by bottoming in some way (fingers, a toy, whatever else). Shulang’s realization that Fan Xiao has witnessed this part of him is what ultimately triggers his trauma flashback and brief psychosis.

We already know Shulang has a complex about being unwanted and unloved, but here we see that perhaps his deepest vulnerability is his sense of shame. He is afraid of his own inherent ‘perversion’ — from being a bastard, being abandoned by his family, being gay — a self-loathing that is not all that different from Fan Xiao’s. It is also exactly the thing that he feels Fan Xiao is dragging him towards (hell/sin/corruption/evil). Fan Xiao is making Shulang acknowledge and accept his own shameful humanity, which is both destroying him and, in a fucked up sort of way, something he needs in order to heal his own trauma.
