I don’t generally do fan art, it’s not something I have time for, but I’ve just finished reading the first two books in a trilogy by @leocarew and felt compelled to try illustrating them. Here’s an illustration of the Black Lord of the Anakim and the terrifying Unhierea. Although technically fantasy books The Wolf, The Spider (and later this year, The Cuckoo) are more like a kind of alternative history, a version of ancient Britain in which there are three species of human instead of just one. They reminded me strongly of @neilhimself books and Susanna Clarke’s Jonathan Strange in the way that they present a very coherent, believable world that also links to myths and legends. March Meet The Maker - 2 Hands At Work Here’s a photo of me pretending to draw. These hands have been drawing professionally for 17 years now (and unprofessionally for almost 40) I do all my work in Procreate on the latest 12.9” iPad Pro. I absolutely love this hardware/software combination, it feels like the perfect way for me to work. I have always worked digitally, starting on a home built PC and graduating through a series of Macs and Wacom tablets. I’ve also owned pretty much every iteration of iPad since the original and when the Apple Pencil came out I started to switch from Mac / Photoshop to iPad / Procreate. In November 2018 I made the switch, sold my Wacom Cintiq and have never looked back. Since then I have worked with the developers of @Procreate on a couple of commissions and as well making superb drawing software they are also very nice people. #marchmeetthemaker #marchmeetthemaker2020 @joannehawker https://ift.tt/3cmuMxq
