Freddy Krueger is a scary character from A Nightmare on Elm Street. He was a killer who got burned alive by parents after he was let go for his crimes. Now, he haunts people's dreams and kills them while they sleep. Freddy is known for his burned face, red-and-green sweater, and glove with knives for fingers. He’s a mix of horror and dark humor, and he uses the dream world to do terrifying things. Freddy has appeared in many movies, including Freddy vs. Jason, and has been in shows and games too. He represents our fear of death and the power of nightmares, showing that we can't escape even when we sleep.

Week 13- The Babadook

The Babadook is a creepy monster from the 2014 film The Babadook. It appears from a mysterious children’s book and represents grief and trauma. The creature haunts Amelia, the main character, as she struggles with the death of her husband. The Babadook isn’t just a monster, it symbolizes how ignoring painful emotions can make them grow stronger and more dangerous.

Week 12- Demogorgon

The Demogorgon is a monstrous creature from Stranger Things, coming from the dark world called the Upside Down. It has a humanoid shape with a flower-like mouth full of sharp teeth and hunts humans, especially children. The creature is released after secret government experiments open a rift between our world and the Upside Down. While it’s a terrifying monster, the Demogorgon also symbolizes fear of the unknown and the dangers of human experimentation. It shows how messing with things we don’t understand can lead to disaster.

WK 9' Freddy Krueger

Freddy Krueger is the killer from the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies. The first movie was in 1984. He’s a burned man who wears a red and green striped sweater and has a glove with blades on it. Freddy kills people in their dreams, which makes him even scarier because they can’t escape him. He was a child murderer who was killed by the parents of his victims, and now he haunts their kids in their sleep. If Freddy weren’t a killer, he could represent the fear of nightmares or guilt that haunts people. He’s not real, but the idea of being trapped in a dream where you can’t wake up is something that scares a lot of people. Freddy is a symbol of how fear can control us.

WK 10 Micheal Myers

Michael Myers is the killer from the "Halloween" movies, first in 1978. He wears a white mask and kills people on Halloween. As a kid, he killed his sister and got sent to a mental hospital, but escaped years later to keep killing. He has no real reason for what he does, just pure evil. Michael Myers isn't real, but you can still be scared after watching the Halloween movies because of how scary he is in the movies.

WK 11 Frankenstein's Monster

Frankenstein’s Monster is from Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel Frankenstein. He was created by Victor Frankenstein from body parts. Frankenstein is abandoned and rejected because he looks scary. The most famous version is from the 1931 movie with Boris Karloff, where the monster is quiet and tragic. To me, Frankenstein isn't necessarily a monster, he's just misunderstood because of his looks and may look like someone who were to be a monster, but in reality, he isn't. The way he was created is just very strange and scary so I would be scared of him too.

La Llorona

La Llorona means "the weeping woman" and is a legendary figure in Latin American folklore, mainly in Mexican culture. The legend that she's is a woman who drowned her children and now wanders the earth mourning their loss crying "Ay, mis hijos!" which means 'Oh, my children." La Llorona goes around taking and doing the same thing as she did to her children to other peoples children and was even made a movie in the 2019 film "The Curse of La Llorona." I believe that the story of La Llarona is could be real, but the ghost of La Larona isn't. By that I mean the events of a woman drowning their children and having the urge to do so to others may be true, just not a ghost that goes around drowning others.

This is Pennywise. He's a clown from the movie IT and also a Stephen King novel. Pennywise walks around with a red ballon, sneaking up on people, drawing people towards him, and killing people (kids). Pennywise is even featured in movies such as OASIS. I dont believe that he's real just because he's in a fictional movie, but people definitely dress up as him. Killer clowns in general, I feel like are real because murderers do dress up in costumes sometimes.

Katherine or Elana?

Katherine Pierce in The Vampire Diaries represents the darker side of vampires. Unlike Elena, her doppelgänger, Katherine being mean and evil, showing how vampirism can lead to losing one's humanity. She uses her charm to get what she wants and hurts others, especially Stefan and Damon. Similar to traditional vampires like in Dracula, Katherine is both alluring and dangerous. Her selfish actions create serious problems for those around her, highlighting how the power of being a vampire can be harmful. Katherine’s story explores themes of power, betrayal, and the cost of immortality, making her one of the most compelling characters in the series.

(I don't think that this character is real because of the fact that she was on a fictional TV show, so therefore she's not)

Misunderstood Godzilla

Godzilla first appeared in a film "Gojira." He is a an extremaly big dinosaur caly skin, sharp claws, and a long tail. Godzilla is very destructive and gets into fights with other monsters such as King Kong. King Kong has appeared in movies such as "Godzilla" (2014), "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" (2019), Comic books, "Godzilla" (Marvel Comics), Cameos, "The Simpsons," "Ready Player One" (2018), and etc. Now although I don't believe Godzilla is real, I don't believe he's a monster nor a ghost. I feel like he's just a big misunderstood dinosaur who has to act in vicious ways because of how he's portrayed and treated.

WK2 - Doppelgangers

Have you ever had someone who looks exactly like you, but wasn't related to you of any sort? That is what can be called a doppelganger. A doppelganger is someone who looks exactly like you but isn't related to you in any way. They are considered an apparition; a paranormal phenom that brings bad luck with it; a wraith. Doppelgangers have been featured several times whether it was in Vampire Diaries, US, Deadringers, Doppelganger, and so much more. According to a study by Dr.Teghan Lucas, there's a 1 in 135 chance of finding a doppelganger. Out of approximately 7.4 billion people. There are also studies of people having such similar genes and lifestyles they can be considered doppelgangers. In 2022 there was a study that found 16 pairs of lookalikes with similar features shared more than genes instead of 16 with fewer similar features. US in my opinion is an incredible film based on doppelgangers and it is definitely worth watching if you haven't already especially if you're into thriller, horror, and movies on the psychological side.

THEE KLAUS

I went with Klaus from The Originals and The Vampire Diaries. He is one of the show's primary protagonists. Of his kind, he is the first. These days, everyone is aware of vampires, but Klaus is in a whole other league! The first hybrid is him. A hybrid is the result of two or more distinct supernatural species mating. When a werewolf transforms into a vampire, the phrase is frequently used. Due to their combined heritage, hybrids have powerful traits that are exclusive to them as well as some of the advantages and disadvantages of their parent races. Day-walking and the ability to change into wolves on their own of the Full Moon's influence are features limited to werewolf-vampire hybrids.

WKT Vampires

Vampires are a mythical creatures that feed on the blood of humans. There are many shows and movies that consist of vampires. Like in this clip of Vampire Diaries. That's Damon Salvator, played by Ian Somerhalder. He's portrayed and looked at as a bad boy. You can also find him in other vampire TV series such as  The Originals and The Vampire Diaries: Darker Truth. His character has become iconic in the vampire genre, influencing various other shows. There was told to be believed that there were Vampires in Ancient Greece, where people would be attacked and drained of all their blood.

Hi, my name is Jaida, I like to hangout and go on drives with my friends. I didn't really enjoy horror films or anything along those lines, until a few years ago. I don't have a specific horror film that I favor, but I like to watch scary movies as a group.
