when playing oboe how do you achieve better tone?

Hey! Great question and there are a few answers. 1) play your long tones and do them consistently. 2) learn to make reeds and make them consistently. And lastly, 3) think of singing “oh” or “ah” vowels as you play. This will help round the sound out.

There are no substitutes for 1 and 2.
