Haven't played in a month!
My Pokémon Crystal playthrough has been on hiatus for a month, I've been struggling a bit with workload and mental health in general, and I've been focusing on replaying Dragon Age but I will jump back into this soon.

It's been a while! I've actually been playing tiny amounts all week but I've not accomplished anything in a day worth making a post about because it's been like an hour of grinding between working, going out and sleeping :P

Beat Morty at the Ecruteak City Gym

Hopefully I get chance to play some over the weekend, but I have to pick up some extra work and I have plans with my friend to watch the Bear and possibly Shogun so I will be very busy haha

Finally beat Morty after a week of working and lying in an exhausted slump on the sofa! He went down pretty easy to Geodude, but I'm not very well levelled so he didn't last for Gengar, who was taken out by Togepi of all things.

Been a quiet few days, between being busy and Britain's ungodly heat, I've been absolutely dying so I've only sparsely been playing and trying to level up Togepi, hopefully I'll move on with it a bit soon!

Received an Odd Egg from the Day Care Man on Route 34, which sadly evolved into an ordinary, non-shiny Elekid :(

Whitney's Miltank has a bad rap for being one of the most difficult Pokémon to beat at the stage of the game it is in, but it is NOTHING compared the power of Croconaw's Rage. Didn't even need to switch a Pokémon out lol

Another fairly slow day, I spent most of it levelling Growlithe up and working because work hates me and decided I need to mark ALL of the assignments.

So I got my Growlithe, and levelled it up, so naturally Bugsy's Gym was ridiculously easy because I had Ember to rely on!
Also why does the Togepi egg take so many steps to evolve, it took me ages :(

Today's been a pretty chill day, I spent most of it playing Crusader Kings but I did make a little progress on Crystal!
Caught a spare Bellsprout on Route 31 and traded it for an Onix in Violet City

Decided to wait until tomorrow to do more because I wanna see if I can get a Growlithe from Route 36.

I know Pidgeotto is massively underlevelled and Lv. 9 is a terrible level for a 1st Gym Leader's ace... but it's so strong when you're not also a bit overlevelled lol- luckily Totodile and Rage put it down in 2 hits as I'd charged it up a bit on Pidgey!

I won't have time to play much this evening as I have to do some chores and then I'm having people over to watch House of the Dragon's premiere! But here's what I've done so far:
Chose Totodile as my starter Pokémon from Professor Elm
Beat Silver in Cherrygrove City
Caught Sentret on Route 29
Caught Geodude on Route 46
Caught Caterpie on Route 30
Caught Bellsprout on Route 31
Caught Geodude in Dark Cave (I'm really sad about this because originally I found a Dunsparce and it's a 1% spawn rate and it knocked me out!)
Now playing: Pokémon Crystal
So it turns out I did have Crystal installed, not Silver like I thought! So here we go! Obviously I picked the Water starter, as I do for every game, but Totodile is actually my favourite Starter so I can't not <3
Game Complete: Pokémon Blue
And today's the day I finished Pokémon Blue! This morning I did the following:
Caught Zubat in Victory Road
Evolved Zubat into Golbat
Evolved Dragonair into Dragonite
Beat the Elite Four at Indigo Plateau and became Champion
Caught Chansey in Cerulean Cave
Caught Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave

And that's the Elite Four down! Lorelei was pretty easily countered with Raichu, Bruno with Blastoise (I had two psychic types but forgot to teach them any psychic type moves lol), Agatha actually gave me trouble because her status effects annihilated Rhydon, Lance went down easily to my Dragonite, and for Blue I had a counter for each member of his team so he was no challenge really. Only one thing left to do...

Should finish Blue tomorrow! I believe I'll be moving on to Silver, it depends whether I ever got Crystal from the eShop before it shut down, we'll see. I'd rather play Crystal, Emerald and Platinum if I'm gonna play the remakes.
