long story short: i need to find someone in the nyc area to foster/adopt asher the cat by the end of august. i'm moving into a sublet that won't allow another cat, and then i'm moving in with someone who's allergic to cats. here's a link to asher's profile on adopt-a-pet:

asher's story is pretty sad. he came into my care about a year ago, when his two human parents assured me that he would live with my roommate and i only temporarily -- that they were just going to get their living situations sorted out and then come back for him. we took them at their word but they abandoned asher with us. one cat dad moved back to spain and the other moved into a family member's house after some chaotic life stuff. i don't think either had ill intentions, but nonetheless, they took on something they weren't ready for and fucked up. in the past month i've reached out to both people about helping me find a foster home for asher, but neither have responded with much more than an OMG! the roommate who was taking care of asher with me moved across the country at the end of march, and since then i've been asher's sole caretaker.
over the past couple months i've been working with Brooklyn Animal Action to help find a forever home for asher. with BAA's help i was able to find a home for another cat that was in my care. i'm certain that they can help find a home for asher too, but i'm afraid it will take a bit more time than i can offer.
jsyk: asher is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, fiv/felv negative, and has had flea treatments. he is a v sweet baby.
