I am absolutely thrilled to announce that news that I hinted at last week.

Codeine Drums will be DJing at the official A$AP Rocky afterparty at the Arches on June 9th.

We’ll be sharing a stage with The Blessings (LuckyMe) and Theophilius London.

If you have a ticket for the show, you can get in to the afterparty for a small door fee.

If you don’t have a ticket to the show, you can still attend the club night, albeit for a slightly higher door fee.

We are SO excited.  We adore all things A$AP, so this is kind of A Thing for us.

This weeks show is largely dedicated to new rap joints that dropped late 2011 whilst the station was off air for the holidays, and early 2012.

YMCMB do a lil’ bit of hyphy-loving with Drake and Tyga, who strip the beats back and let the verses do the talking on ‘The Motto’ and ‘Rack City’. We’ve been bumpin’ Young Jeezy’s long awaited Thug Motivation 103 tape since the end of December, as well as two ladies who we’re excited to hear more from this year, Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks.

This sunday, we start our new monthly residency in Glasgow's finest bar, IVY.

Come drink some mulled wine and listen to everything but shitty christmas songs (there might be some christmas songs, but they'll be good.)

2011 has seen some truly amazing artists give us a much needed injection of fun.

The sheer breadth of variety is astonishing; from head-bursting smashers from Rustie to the most gorgeous, ambient house from Jamie xx, and good ol’ fashioned dancefloor stompers from the likes of Mosca.

Some artists that we have played in the beginning of the year have now come to be super popular, which is amazing for us - to love someone new and see them blow up they way they do (nods to Jacques Greene and The Weeknd in particular here).

So, this is a very, very short selection of some of our favourites of 2011.

We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
