So I finally cracked open my Princess Diaries special edition dvd, and immediately went to the bloopers, as you do, and decided that the internet needed even more reasons to love Julie Andrews. You’re welcome.

Hey Tumblr,
Long time no talk! It’s already 2018 and I've had this platform since 2009. How crazy. Almost a decade... WOW. Anyways, just a little update on how 2018 has been so far.
January: SF was fun until my family and I witnessed our car getting broken into! CRAZY. WILD. I know. It happened all so quickly. Don’t be stupid and leave your valuables ESPECIALLY in touristy areas!! At least they “only” got my dad’s backpack which had my laptop and his work laptop... LOL. Honestly, it could’ve been worse. If we weren't there tbh, they’d probably get away with all of our luggages and stuff )-: At least ya girl got approved for a new laptop, just bummed I lost my footage from 2017 that included my Europe trip and practically Nessa’s senior year :/ Also, went to Winter Retreat w/ Rho Fam which was a fun little getaway and brought me closer to some of my legs (’:
February: Was a blur tbh LOL I think I saw Xavier Omar at UCSD?? And we went to Vegas since Auntie and her daughter from Canada were there :) SIDE NOTE: White Castle was pretty bomb although the smell was :x
March: TWENTY FUN!!!
April: COACHELLA I’LL SEE YOU IN 2019 FORSURE (Shoutout to payment plan)
May: Kendrick Lamar?? SZA?? The TDE tour was pretty dope. AND DONE WITH SCHOOL!! Lmao, but then ya girl started summer school at the end of the month/early June which wasn’t too bad.
June: Momma’s bday celebrated at Viejas. Inventory!!! Work, summer school, sleep and repeat.
July: So many birthdays... lol. But it was a pretty fun month although I didn't hang out w/ friends much. Spent a lot of time at work and with family which wasn’t bad at all. Work is bearable when you work with great peeps :’)
August: It’s currently August 15. Tbh, 2018 has been treating me well so far. I haven’t been this content with how life is in awhile. School in 12 days and I’m both excited and scared for what the school year will bring. I should be graduating but it’s okay, 2020 sounds cooler, lol.
GOAL: Continue to better myself in anyway I can through different opportunities. Save money so I can go abroad in 2019. Stop slacking in certain areas (yeah Janelle, go running or read a book. BE PRODUCTIVE. ALWAYS.) Consistency.
Well, I guess I’ll stop here for now. This was more for a reflection for my future self, but if you read this... if anyone still goes on this, hello! :)
little goals for the new year
“one day or day one?” start learning a new language and try to stick with it. better to do less regularly than big study sessions once per week!
buy yourself an art notebook and fill it during the year with doodles and drawings
meet with old friends and acquaintances who might become friends
keep a journal and regularly write about your day
appreciate the little things in life: the snow lying outside, the scent of flowers, the little smiles on people’s faces
make it a habit to start your assignment as soon as you get it; it saves you from so much stress!!
more cozy study dates in cafes
don’t buy too many books while still having to read all the ones you bought last time, otherwise, you’ll be overwhelmed soon enough
reach out to people online and make more friends, a lot of people on here are extremely nice and welcoming!!
look at the sky more often
don’t dwell on the past too much, what’s done is done, try to grow from it
buy more little things that make you happy, such as candles, bath bombs or stationery
go for a walk at least once a week, especially if you live in the city
accept that it’s okay to ask for help, in school and in personal matters!!

Praying for the woman I’ll be in 5+yrs I hope she’s happy, and loved, living life unapologetically, doing what she loves.
I need a life that isn’t just about needing to escape my life.

5 things I did that improved my mental health in the last 1 year 1. I realized my worth. It was so hard because it meant letting go of those who didn’t. And those were the people that I loved. It hurt so bad. When the ropes that tied them to me were cut, I got cut too. I bled. It hurt. But then those wounds healed like wounds always do. And Now? I am free. 2. I started taking care of myself and that involved going back to the things I learned as a child. Brush your teeth. Take a shower. Sleep on time. Sleep enough. Drink loads of water. Walk. Let your skin shower in sunlight. I keep a habit tracker. It’s simple. It lets me be conscious of my daily needs and whether or not I am fulfilling them. 3. I learned that you don’t always have to respond. To what people say, to that person texting you after 8 months of complete silence, to negative comments, to accusations. It doesn’t make you a coward. Not in the least. What it really does is, is let you be at peace. But the hard part? I also learned that you don’t always have to respond to ‘I love you’ either. 4. I learned to not be extreme. Yes I don’t want to do anything with them. But do I need to burn their letters? Delete all pictures? Even when I’m not sure how that will make me feel in the long run? No. I learned to store it all away in a place I wouldn’t touch until I wanted to. It’s been a year. I haven’t once touched. It works for all aspects of life. Had a bad day at work? Do you just yell and quit? No. Have 100 bad days at work where they don’t respect you but still continue to be silent and work? No any extreme isn’t good. 5. Food is important. So important. They just don’t say ‘you are what you eat’ to sound silly. Food is literally you putting something in yourself. You gotta be more mindful of what, when and how much you’re putting in. Don’t restrict yourself. But don’t not monitor yourself either.
