I AM Jarrett Key 2015

Two posters inspired I AM. The language and type echo the poster I AM A MAN used in the March in Memphis on March 28, 1968. The form reflects Glenn Ligon's oil and gesso on canvas "Study for BLACK LIKE ME." I AM is oil on paper. I AM extends the dialogues surrounding I AM A MAN and Study for BLACK LIKE ME into our present fight against oppression. We declare that our voice and our lives matter.
