Happy dance! This one is for all the lovely people who started following me the last couple of days/weeks/months, even though this place is kinda abandoned. 

On other news, I did a test with the help of Louis, to find my spirit animal. And apparently, who knew, I am a sloth! I am okay with that, who does not love those lazy, droopy looking animals? My other options were a bat, an owl and a deer. So yeah, sloth it is.

“Writer’s rush!”

This goes for me, but I suppose it applies to others artist and people as well. I get this kind of rush, I could not say if it is like drugs, since I have never tried any of that (stay in school, don’t do drugs kids, all that kind of stuff), but it happens whenever I have finished some writing. I can just get happy when I get some good writing done. Be proud of it, hoping that someone will read it and be as happy about it as I am. (So don’t go piss on my rainbow, you damn critics!)

It’s probably just a genuine feeling of happiness, but it feels like rainbows, unicorns and al that other kind of magical stuff that makes you feel good about yourself. Who needs drugs, when they can write, paint, read, animate, draw or anything else that makes you happy?

What do you guys think? I am finally taking to step to publish my first book. Hopefully with an official publisher, if not, on my own. Either way, I still like to design some covers. 

The book is called “The Spy”, for the people (like, everyone) who don’t understand Flemish. The calas seem weird, but if you know the story, you will understand that it has a important meaning. Anyway, it’s out there, let’s reach for the stars!

“I am narrating my own life”

I have officially reached a new level of craziness. Call it “professional deformation” (although, according to a certain jealous douche, I am incapable of having that, since I do not have a job). Ever since going for the full experience as a aspirational writer, I am currently narrating my own life. Like seriously, I can say something to someone and whisper to myself afterwords: “She lied” or “She said sarcastically”. Yes, even in the third person.

Maybe it helps people to understand my sarcasm better, which is a good thing, but the downside is my coockoo-level is reaching new heights. Ow well, better go for the full arty-farty experience, since this is the path I chose. Embrace the crazies, one day they will rule the world!

Quote of the Day

“I am so bad with children”

Seriously, it becomes so painfully obvious every time my nieces fly over from Italy. I am just standing there, in a corner, pretending like a five year old that if “I can’t see them, they can’t see me”. There are some flaws in that theory, that’s for sure.

Not that I speak to them in a “little person”-voice. Because I can’t stand that myself. Sometimes people talk to me like that. (Give me some credit, I am 25, for Gods’s sake. I know I haven’t reached anything in my life, but still…)

So yeah, if I could choose, I wish to have no contact with any kind of child, like anytime and anywhere. No babies, no toddlers, no fourth-graders, even teenagers. They all have something I can’t stand. Or they cry too much, or they ask too many questions, or they are taller than me even I am like ten years older. (What’s up with the food these days? Seriously, how can a 14-year old look better than me? Where is the justice in that, evolution-theory?) But maybe it’s just me and it’s a “people thing”. Don’t get me started on grownups...

Currently, my worst enemy is the sun. 

Why you ask? Don’t go there, I warned ya. 

Belgium is a silly, little country that cannot make up it’s mind about the weather (probably has something to do with the climate change). So either it’s freaking cold, or it’s ridiculously hot. The problem is: I can’t stand extreme temperatures like that. Or I freeze and turn into a ice cube, or I melt and become a puddle. Right now, the Weather Gods thought it was a good idea to let the sun shine, so it is 30 degrees. I feel like I am in India right now (bad joke, I know, I am sorry).

The weather itself may not be such a problem, if it were not the time to study. So this year, I find myself locked up in my room, hiding from the sun, barbecues and other fun things to do, to just sit there and stare at my notes. Because yes, it has been a while to hit the books and I am getting old, so everything is a little harder. Just as the new “Quote of the Day”:

“I have the concentration span of a goldfish”

Seriously, five seconds. Five seconds a day to get things done. Blub!

The end of the year is near (or for students at least) and then everything goes a little bit slower. Stressed out because of all the procrastination, some people’s body might just shut down completely. Burn-out or depression, call it what you want, but life is hard!

Since I am going through these exact feelings and just want to sleep all day long (but obviously can’t, because I have a ton load of work to do) here is the new “Quote of the Day”:

“All work and no play, makes Jasmien go craycray”

Me thinks, I am not the only one who feels this way. So, if it is any consolation, let’s join together in our misery.
