Still basically at a loss of words but Landon tried to keep his cool. Tried not to think about what this would mean. Maybe if she didnât ask any questions, the male wouldnât have to lie. âI canât complain.â He answered back, giving the woman a small smile. âIâd hope so. I was kind of goofy looking back in high school.â Landon slightly joked, preferring to go that route then to actually bring up the the time frame in which they had last seen each other. âSo, I gotta askâwhat brings you here? I never thought..â Pausing briefly and then shaking his head, not able to to finish that sentence. âItâs good to see you again.â Giving her hand a tiny squeeze.
She crinkled her forehead. That wasnât the answer she expected. Theyâve been best friends for years, she knew him inside and out. âYeah, you... were.â She nodded, giggling through her nose. âLikewise,â she smiled, entwining her hand in his. âActually, Iâm here to...â Her eyes gazed around the room, trying to find a reason that would sound believable, â...write about Red Creek and the places around it. My next stop is Overlook Point.â
