Arena Update 4

Items:

Crossbow Pistol, Six Arrows, Corkscrew, Two Machetes, Eight Throwing Knives, Breastplate, Syringe, Four Titanium Throwing Knives.

A scream of pain left the royal’s lips. That bird was definitely not good news. Jasper quickly limped out of the dovecote with backpack in hand.

Jasper walked back to the manor, eating the baked goods his lovely wife sent him along the way. After he spots the ladder to the left, he climbed up until he reached the roof top.

The royal hears the commotion happening in the rooftop and decides to check it out, against his better judgement.

Savages. Avoiding the rest of the Tributes as much as possible, Jasper headed for the dovecote. There, he spots the large metallic horrendous bird and slowly grabbed his pack.

After his diving suit mysteriously began to broke into pieces, Jasper was sure he was either going to drown or die from the agony of a painful stinging sensation in his lungs. It only took less than a minute for him to realize that he was still in fact alive and… breathing. But without a diving tank for oxygen? Jasper didn’t question his new ability any further.

He merely grabbed his two machetes, and swam back to the surface of the water, heading west.

At the west you find the shore, and the start of woods with wildlife and foliage.

Jasper sensed a commotion happening behind him and was quick to turn around. Four fishes with sharp elongated upper jaws were swimming towards him. Opening up the corpse must have triggered mutts to go after him. Or perhaps it was Hudson’s true challenge for him? Either way, Jasper, with two machetes in hand prepared himself for the fight. 

Moving underwater was a lot more difficult than on dry land. His speed and momentum was slowed down, tenfold. One swing of his machete was only able to stop a swordfish from puncturing his suit but the creature spun around and knocked him down with its tail. Jasper got back on his feet and sent his weapon straight through its abdominal area, staining the murky waters short after with blood. 

Both of Jasper’s machetes were in use as he fought two swordfishes at once. He was struggling to keep their bills away from his helmet, but Jasper risked striking one of the creatures, slicing open its belly and letting the internal organs spill out. The second one attacked, but Jasper moved out of the way, and cut off its tail. Jasper stepped on the dying animal and finished the job by repeatedly impaled its body with his weapons.

The royal kept avoiding the fourth swordfish’s strikes until he led it to the doc. He dived to his left when the creature attack again. The animal struggled to free its bill but was unable to. Then Jasper forced both machetes through the side of its body, killing the final mutt and ending his challenge.

Jasper and Buggie vs Izara ( ♕ )

Lost my hand and ally to the Victor from District Two. I at least made it out alive from the fight.

You pass the corpse of the siren that you fought with your allies just days ago, and in the distance is something in the distance, a few hundred feet south of where the cornucopia is.

Jasper steps on the dead river-mutt’s corpse, not bothering to go around it, and spots a peculiar object in the distance. He continues his walk, figuring that he must be getting close to the Cornucopia until he finally reached that said something.

It’s Amalee!  Noor’s relative!  She got some stitches  on her, but shes tangled up in some seaweed at the moment.

Jasper held onto the individual’s arm so she wouldn’t float up as he cuts the seaweed in an attempt to free her. The girl must be another Tribute’s dead relative, and just like his father, surely had something useful inside her. Once she was untangled, he gently used his machete to open her up.

Out of the three challenges Jasper has faced, Hudson’s was probably the strangest. He technically wouldn’t get hurt whatsoever and he always wanted to know what it was like to scuba dive. The experience should be therapeutic and give him time to relax as well as recover. One thing was for sure, Jasper wasn’t going to miss the action that was going to be happening on the surface of the water.

Jasper dipped the green leaves into the hot water in his canteen and drank it down to help his injuries heal quicker. He then placed the rest of his items in the waterproof pack, supplies, weapons, etc. and got in the diving suit. Twelve hours shouldn’t be so bad, he thought. He walked over to the trap door and took a deep breath before he was dropped into the water. A huge splash followed.

The royal opened his eyes, finally presented with the underwater world. It felt so… peaceful. Below the surface, there were no troubles, conflicts, or fighting. Jasper knew however, that such a state of safety was only temporary. Nonetheless, he enjoyed his time and had a chance to think about all that’s happened. 

His eyes scanned the river for anything of importance as he slowly traversed the underwater floor, heading north.

Though you can’t exactly tilt your neck up in your diving suit, you figure you’re right under the drawbridge.  In the distance you can see sunken part of the broken bridges, but the water is too murky to see super far in the distance.

It would be great if he could see further away, but he knows where he was going as well as what was around him, and that was good enough for now.  Jasper slowly trudged along, going around the broken bridges and continuing to head north.
