Dear thirties...
These last 10 years have been exciting. You entered this decade as a sophomore in college, green to the world. You leave with a wife, 2 children, and 2 degrees. You now have a prefix (Reverend) and suffix (Senior) that flank your name. What a ride it has been!
You travelled the world, stepping foot on 2 new continents, and crossed the burning sands of ΚΑΨ.
Over these 10 years you have conquered some fears. At 20 you grew anxious whenever you thought about public speaking. Now, you stand before thousands weekly. You moved from being a techie to infusing creativity in ministry, business, and media. You took on management and leadership roles and positions, even when you did not feel qualified.
From 20-29 you faced some great challenges. You had to endure sickness, hospital stays, and surgery. You said goodbye to loved ones and watched others drift away.
But on your last day of this pivotal decade, you can say “I Made It!” You learned to trust in Jesus and depend on God like never before.
As you prepare for your 30s, hold on to the lessons of perseverance, determination, and the knowledge you have gained in your 20s. Do not forget that God always has, and will, be with you, in everything! Just as your faith has developed to this point, never let it waver or fade.
I now pass the baton off to the next phase. My work is done, my assignments complete. As the calendar rolls over to the 29th, I am happy to see what you will become.
The best is yet to come, and God still has great things in store for you!
Enjoy these next 10 years, you deserve it
Signed, your twenties
