I’m going to answer these two and then this will be the end of the discussion. If you still have issues, then feel free to IM the masterlist but anons concerning this topic will no longer be accepted.
I do not understand why you are so offended by the idea that somebody, as a moderator, would want to do damage control on a topic that has caused so much strife that it’s basically necessary to set a precedent in order to keep the peace. You are, partially, the exact reasons why I set the rule in the first place. People who don’t approve of headcanons and slander those who disagree with them. No, this is not an admittance of me disagreeing with trans headcanons- like I’ve stated previously, I have several of my own and have acted on them before, in RP and in fic form. However, the fact that accepting a headcanon is supposedly mandatory or else somebody is seen as transphobic is absurd. It’s that reason why I decided to set a rule in order to avoid anonymous users like you going around and harassing group members. As it turns out, however, apparently that hatred has instead turned to me.
I have never once said that transgender characters aren’t allowed whatsoever. If you had wanted all of your muses to be trans or nonbinary OCs, then I would have had zero problem with it, because those characters are yours, with your own predetermined canon. It’s when a character has a canon that’s shared with an entire fandom, a fandom full of people with differing headcanons on controversial topics and the propensity to send anonymous hate, that it becomes necessary to start avoiding situations in which hate could possibly be sent.
As for the serial killer comment- you’re comparing apples to oranges, and I hope you realize that. Serial killers are characters with homicidal character traits. They are canonically serially killers, or predisposed to violence and/or murder. Hannibal Lecter isn’t a cannibal by headcanon, that is his character and no amount of trying to talk out of it is going to change that. That is not controversial. What is controversial is if somebody decided they wanted to play Hannibal as something that a large part - maybe less than half, but still a large part - of the fandom would object to and hypothetically send hate to somebody about.
I’m contemplating shutting Java down before it even starts, and not for the anons’ satisfaction. This blog has been marred with anonymous negativity and hatred and I wouldn’t wish a stigma upon anybody who is a part of this group, or so much as affiliates with it. I apologize to everybody who was looking forward to this group, but it would be better for you to find a place that wouldn’t allow the threat of anonymous hate to loom over you every day.
