cinnamonwinters:
the rush of a diner was definitely an adjustment for lyle to get used to. coming in from minnesota with no job experience other than a long resume of theatre productions and small local acting gigs didn’t make finding a job particularly easy. so three years ago, he was stuck with the first job that was willing to take him on which he was grateful for. it was just that, man did he hate the uniforms. collared red shirts, khaki shorts and a white apron tied tightly around his waist purposely to show off his small figure. it was a disaster of outfits, he could barely make it look hot but if he’s learned anything about himself it was that he could make anything look hot. years of balancing plates on his arms and taking orders finally became second nature to him which wasn’t something he ever wanted to brag about. it wasn’t busy in the diner that afternoon so lyle started to lazily wipe down one of the tables, hoping one of his coworkers would come over and offer to help so he could do something else. thankfully a customer walked in and seated themselves so the brown haired waiter left his cleaning for someone else. “ hey there cutie, do you need a minute to look at the menu? “ lyle offered the customer one of his iconic charming smiles as pulled out his pad and pen from his apron.
Javier smiled at the other and looked up as the waiter began calling him cutie. He took a quick glance at the menu before shaking his head. “No thank you. I just want a burger with fries. Nothing too special.” He sat back, looking up at the other. The boy was... charming. Well at least he seemed like he was used to being told that, looking just a bit cocky. Still, Javier didn’t need to say anything like that. “Thanks though.” He had just finished his shift at the flower shop and just wanted to eat so that he could go home and relax. But something told him the cute boy currently taking his order wasn’t about to let him get off that easily. “And just water to drink. I don’t need anything too special.” He smiled at the other and tilted his head at the other.
