“I did this world and kind of… crush it so I guess I’m excited for opportunities expand the ol’ brand.”
This costume was a labour of love from start to finish! I had an absolute BLAST with this costume from designing it myself, to sewing, to embellishing and I’m so proud of all the little details~ So, here’s some photos I absolutely adore of my high fashion / original designed Lup from TAZ!
Overall, this costume was built from 12 yards of heavy wool! Most of that went right into the cape which itself was 8 yards and was a circle prior to cutting the drape into it, which allowed it to have the volume to create that drape downwards~ The dress was embellished with pyramid studs, rhinestones, embroidered stars and these great sequined diamonds I cut out of a large fabric. The mini cloak was embellished with large and small star embroidery and those diamonds, and the collar and epaulets were outlined in gold embroidery thread. The cape was lined with a black polyester that I added rhinestones and stars too that I made from putting together 5 of the diamonds from the dress and mini cloak! I also made a quick purse that I ironed on the canon Topatoco Starblaster logo too (that logo was the inspiration behind the colored stripes on the larger cloak as well :D). Finally, I made a jewelry inspired phoenix fire gauntlet, made from wire, rhinestones and this kickass bracelet I found~ The wig I used was a Dark Ash Blonde Bucky from @ardawigs :) Photos by Solita Delacruz Photography (fb / Instagram ) at Katsucon 2018!

Can't wait to see what 2016 brings! Costumes made in 2015 (clockwise): Cynthia from FE:A, fem! Bokuto from Haikyuu!!, Yachi from Haikyuu!!, Leliana from DA:I, Asuna from Hibike! Euphonium, Sakura from Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun, and No-Flutter Chibi Moon

“They won't see me coming"
Love love LOVE this shot by amaleighphotography of my Leliana costume I made from Dragon Age Inquisition! Yayyy for a shoot where you can see more detail (like all that damn contrast topstitching!) Can’t wait to formally finish off the costume (aka gotta get crackin’ on that armor) later this year sometime~!
Was super happy that I got the chance to shoot with Novii Photography at Apop, and gosh I really love the results!!
Being a Euph player myself it was only a matter of time before I cosplayed from Hibike! Euphonium, and the marching band uniform was super cute so extra bonus points. My original wig for Kumiko failed in the end (boo :C ), but luckily I was able to throw together Asuka, the drum major and low brass section leader (and the latter was a role I had for a few years! ) And thanks to my friend Yvonne for letting me borrow her awesome Sailor Mars duo pointer-pen as my baton~ Allowed me to fake it just a bit better ;)
Hey! I'm doing a Leliana cosplay and I was wondering how you put on the wool for the trim? It looked amazing btw!
Hi there~! Thanks so much! I’m still really pleased that the idea worked out :)
The braid itself is a 4 piece round braid, which you can search that on google to find images on how to, or here’s a link to what looks like a pretty good video on it as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLjs_MeGNpo Generally, I measured how long I needed each braid to be and multiplied that by around 5 to get the length of wool you need to cut for one braid. So I used about one full spool of wool for just the grey!
Once I had finished braiding, I just handsewed them on with lots of tiny stitches~ So small stitch through/around a piece in the braid and more tack around the fabric of the tunic so as to minimize thread seen on the actual wool.
and voila!
I hope that helps! :) Thanks!!
Got my photos back from my shoot with Novii Photography this past weekend… And holy cow!!!! Super happy oh my gosh~ costume is Asuka from sound! euphonium and made by me. Mars star wand borrowed off of my friend Yvonne since as drum major I needed something haha :)
Had a super fun time re-wearing my genderbent!Bokuto Koutarou from Haikyuu!! again this weekend at Atomic Lollipop with my awesome friend stickytoffeetea as Akaashi <3 Any chance to cosplay my favourite Owl Dork I am taking 200% of the time. Too bad the actual owl they had to pose with outside was gone on the Sunday :( Cannot wait until season 2 of the anime starts and I get to see Bokuto animated in all his ridiculous glory!! Thank you so much viria for designing such fantastic genderbends!
