Since I was a kid, I always hope and believed that I will get married on 27th. Why 27th? Because its not too young to be committed with a lifetime decision like marriage, yet not too old to get settled and to deliver a baby.
Ray and I can’t emphasize enough how we want our wedding to be a modern intimate, personal ceremony. We want people who come to our wedding are the people closest to us, as we want to hug, chat, dance, laugh and take a photo with them. We created a hashtag for our wedding day #RJ2811 so our guest could share their experience and print the photo for free as an additional souvenir.
THE CEREMONY. We started the day by exchanged our vows and rings at GKI Pondok Indah. It was beautiful and brought some tears. A happy one tho.
DIY WEDDING. Our invitation was designed by one of my best friends from high school and my Dad printed it for us. I used the design she made as my reference to complete all the details (cake topper, wedding ring box, ceremony book, souvenir tag, and wedding program). Since my Mum is a jewelry maker, so she's the one who made our wedding rings. It was a simple one with white gold and a bit curve on my ring. Simple yet meaningful for us. My flower bouquet also one of our relative's creation while my crafty bridesmaids slept late to paint and stitch my Here Comes The Brides banner. Oh, and that band played on our wedding day was Ray's older brother friends. We brought all music instrumentals from Ray's parents home and missed the drum pedal so his cousins needs to find one at Kemang area.
VENDORS. We are so blessed to have lots of helps from our vendors. They are communicative and fast response. Our venue was great with delicious non-MSG foods, our photographer and videographer blended with our guests so they captured lots of beautiful moments naturally, our wedding cake was pretty and raw just the way I imagined it, my makeup was natural and not too much, it reflects my own beauty and the dress! It was the wedding dress on my dream since the moment I saw it in a wedding magazine.
THE NIGHT. Our wedding dream fulfilled when these special people came, reunited, catch up, enjoy the day, and be happy. We’re the ones coming to them, greeting them personally and casually, giggling and hugging (lots of hugs!), meet with the elders who like to give advice and prayers for us, and take as many pictures as we like, with so many different poses as we like. And in the end, we danced our heart out to the Beatles songs sang by Ray's Dad. It’s really intimate and personal. We enjoyed every seconds of it.
That’s the story about our wedding. We wouldn’t have it the other way if we were given a second chance.
