“I can’t get your shoes” -my wife, taking this picture
Back to fashion blogging, as I feel it’s important for late gen-xer men approaching their 40′s to feel confident in how they present themselves to the world. There are plenty of existential challenges we must deal with in this demographic, and fashion should not be among them.
My Saucony runners have holes in them, at the side of each small toe. I ordered some new shoes from Zappos a couple months ago, but they didn’t fit right, and in a weird way, like, they were tight on the TOP OF MY FEET. That’s never happened before, so I lost my spirit. The weird new shoes sat near my front door waiting to be returned for weeks, and I finally set them free the other day. I don’t really notice the holes anyway, unless I spread my toes, and one of the pinkies pops out, but how often does that happen really? I’d rather save that money.
Underneath the Saucs are these Puma tube socks I got from Costco. THE GREATEST SOCKS I HAVE EVER OWNED. They fit my feet like a first time Magnum brand rubber on a well-hung gentleman. He never knew such comfort on that body part could exist, and life improves thus forth.
Most of 2015 found me in a writers’ room that included TV’s Tim Stack (Son of the Beach, Night Stand with Dick Dietrich) One day, he blurts out, “Hey my daughter just emailed me. Levi’s is having a sale. 50% off online orders.” That’s how I acquired these, my favorite jeans. My sweet, simple Levi 511s, held together by my Kenneth Cole reversible brown/black belt.
Shallow V Tee from American Apparel. I really feel special in this shirt, like a sweaty Dov Charney is hiding around the corner, taking pictures of me, because he’s so beguiled by my hot, young look.
Good old Top Man dad cardigan keeps me cozy on autumn LA mornings. Fun Fact: I’ve owned it for 3 years. Never washed it. The wash instructions are intimidating and it never really smells too bad.
Finally, check out my head. Glasses by Micheal Kors (”Hey, guys!”) Detroit Tigers away cap. GOODNIGHT.
