Jeff Mayer Design

Jeff Mayer, former BMX pro and DJ, has over 20 years’ experience in art and design. His work has been featured in numerous publications, such as The New York Times, Interior Design Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. Mayer also worked for 10 years at Rockstar Video Games, where he was their Creative Services Manager, overseeing promotional branding merchandise for games such as the infamous Grand Theft Auto series. Jeff also created the in store music for Prada US by recording his DJ mixes which were played throughout all the Prada retail shops in America. Current projects include Not For Hire NYC, a branding company for the trucking industry, and Luca718kids, a children’s truck brand, named for Mayer’s big rig-obsessed son, Luca. Mayer recently invested in a 1981 Kenworth K100 tractor trailer, which he renovated for the Blocks, Trucks + Art Progressive Education Program. Luca718kids is inspired and named after a boy who loves trucks. Luca was born with a cleft palate and speech development was difficult for him. One day, he mimicked the sound of a fire truck, and it was discovered that Luca had a deep connection with trucks. Luca’s fascination provided inspiration and motivation to develop his speech and language skills. As a family, we followed trucks around Brooklyn and our big city. When Luca was three years old, he and his papa saw a truck for sale. Within a year, their family wound up buying their very own 1981 classic Kenworth big rig. Keep on Truckin’ became the family’s mantra to support Luca and encourage him to never give up.
