From running these polls over the past few months I have learned that the Cats fandom is fairly large, and is in fact one of the only musical fandoms powerful enough to brawl with the Starkid fandom and feasibly come out on top.

While the Shrek musical is quite polarizing, there are a fair number of people who genuinely like Shrek and think of it as a good musical.

Only on tumblr would people question why one of the most popular shows ever, that set records on Broadway and the West End, is beating out a parody show that had a brief run at a small, Off-Loop Chicago theatre

Because that parody show with a brief run at a small, off-loop chicago theatre provided us with a pro-shot on a very accessible website that everyone on the world can watch.

As someone who does not live in the UK nor the USA, watching Cats would depend either on it coming to my country, which might be for 3 to 5 performances max; it getting a production here, which means all the song will be translated (ranges from amazing to terrible); or on buying the pro-shot somewhere(we do not talk about the movie).

On the other hand, I have been able to watch twisted many times for free already.

Although Cats is an amazing show and deservingly has a huge fanbase, you should not underestimate how many people worldwide have been able to enjoy starkid productions and bonded together (partially on this webbed site) because of it.
