i mean if we're talking what makes the most sense, i'd say matching marks... something about train parts being made in pairs then shipped off wherever so they always have an identical maker's mark yadda yadda

that being said my personal choice for greasedinah would have to be your soulmate gets every injury you do (though without as much pain)

dinah as a kid waking up with multiple new mystery bruises/cuts every day, and as she grows up (and greaseball starts racing) she starts finding worse and worse injuries - which is when she starts finding racers/daredevils attractive bc she starts putting two and two together - all her mates are very accustomed to dinah just randomly hissing or yelping in the middle of conversations bc her soulmates just crashed into a tree or punched a wall or something (this adds into why belle and tassita aren't the biggest fan of gb once they start dating)

versus greaseball growing up never really noticing any marks, because dinah was always far more careful, (and if dinah did ever get an injury, greaseball wouldn't notice due to the amount of scrapes and bruises she had herself) so she believes she doesn't have a soulmate - hence the flirting, and the general tough facade - it hurts her very deep deep down, so she acts like a dick to pretend it doesn't bother her

dinah realises greaseball is her soulmate after a short while of watching her race, but greaseball is very loud about the fact she doesn't have a soulmate, and more importantly that she 'doesn't want one' (complete lie), that dinah never tells her. she just accepts the fact that this flirty casual relationship with gb is all she's ever gonna get.

greaseball finally, finally realises when they both crash in a race one day. she's hit by a wave of pain, and thinks she's been injured, only to realise the pain's faded almost immediately, but dinah is lying there in tears.

cue her getting suddenly very very panicked and very very protective because oh my god dinah is her soulmate, and oh my god dinah's hurt, and oh my god she has a soulmate, and oh my god her soulmate is hurt.

(if you don't wanna write this i actually may do it myself bc i realised halfway through this was a sick idea lmao)
