Why does Pearl have gem shard bubbles twice in the series? It doesn’t seem to be a Rose Quartz bubble in Frybo (ep 5) but she specifically mentions she wants to “see how the shards are reacting to Rose’s bubble” in Secret Team (i don’t recall which episode sorry but it’s in season 1).

I always thought the gem shards in Secret Team were shards they found from the battle, primarily Crystal gems but maybe Homeworld gem shards too. I initially thought maybe she was trying to use Steven’s healing powers to resurrect shattered Crystal gems. But Pearl talks about the shards in Frybo like they’re “tools” (like what she expected Lapis to be, although as we’ve seen, “tools” like the walls and the statue and Comby all have sentience, so this could be an issue even the Crystal gems aren’t exactly perfect in). Does anyone have any theories?
